Best place for halo-halo and if you're craving comfort Filipino food. I get the sago gulaman drink, both are refreshing.Food is also good, go for the garlic fried rice.

As reviewed on Yelp - 8/22/2022Berto's never failed us yet! My friends take me here every year I visit. Their breakfast is always consistently good and the halo-halo is worth the drive from Hamilton. Although their hot food selection is not wide, they have the usual entrees we all look for!!

I decided to try them out again because I enjoyed the food I had couple of years back. However, I came in recently for the hot table, staff did not acknowledge people that are lined up, as I waited there were about 8 other people.The staff were disorganized, the same lady taking orders are also making food for dine in customers. They were probably short staffed, the food was okay (Palabok). Someone from the Kitchen was pacing in the back and walking in and out without helping the lady at the front.

The food is good, diner style where you go up,order, then sit down. My friend and I came here for brunch and was not disappointed! She had S1 the stewed beef and I have the sweet cured pork. All breakfasts come with rice and 2 fried egg on top. The portions are generous and they do NOT skimp on the meat! Will definitely return to try their other foods!It is a diner/cafeteria style. You order up at the counter and they bring your food to the table but you have to get up to get the condiments yourself. The place is tucked in an unassuming plaza on Dundas. Don't miss the entrance! I only have it a 4 instead of 5 stars because despite it being a slow day, our food came out slowly and I think they forgot our drinks until a server walked by us and heard us talking about our missing drinks. They do have very friendly service!

We went on a Saturday night around 630. Lots of space to dine in. We got the Combi 1 platter. It took about 45 mins to come out. So maybe call ahead to avoid the wait? The food tasted wonderful. It says it serves 2-4. Closer to 4 imo. The staff was super nice. The halo-halo was a must try. Definitely would come back again to try a bunch of their other options.
