Food quality is okay, I would not rate this as amazing sushi but I also wouldn't rate it terrible. Portion sizes are small. My Spicy Salmon" roll was more avocado than salmon. The menu does not indicate that there's avocado on it and they have a roll that is Salmon and Avocado so this did not make sense to me. When I approached the cashier about it she simply said "you didn't want avocado on it?" I said it's fine this time as I didn't want to make a big deal. I will not be ordering this item again if I decide to go back. It was not worth the price and the add on fee of $0.50 for wild salmon when only about 25% of the filling was actual salmon."

A great variety of sushi to choose from from the standard to imaginative (check out the flame unagi roll). Prices are decent for what you get. One thing that I didnt enjoy is tha agadeshi tofu.It is fried very firm tofu with a dipping sauce. The pictures on the menu are a little different to what you actually get (the actual Bento Box is much less food than what you see on the menu) Everything else, including the service, was a lovely experience.

Lol. It's funny, I ordered online on their site, asked in the comments if I could get a bit of extra rice" with the daily lunch box cuz their included rice portion is very small. Later I got an email saying "Joy Sushi has added a charge to Order". They charged extra $1.05 for the rice separtely from the original order. And they didn't even give me any extra rice LOL! Anyways that's beside the point. This restaurant and the "codefusion" online ordering system

I ordered tako sunomono, Gomae, salmon sashimi and negitoro roll. They were all good, especially for the price. I love the sauces for the salads, very flavorful. The sashimi is average taste/freshness, portion size is quite decent. Service is quick (food came out within 5 minutes of me sitting down), average friendliness/attentiveness.The atmosphere feels like a diner/bistro casual sushi place rather than the more sit-down restaurants. Not really anything IG worthy.

This is their Philadelphia roll. You can barely see the cream cheese inside. I've never seen a Philly roll with this little cream cheese inside. You can't even really taste it. Other rolls I've ordered were way below average portion and taste wise too.

This is a really cute restaurant in Burnaby. They do have dine in and their meals are actually quite reasonably priced. Although with the cost, comes smaller portions (or atleast I’ve noticed for the sushi rolls compared to other sushi places I’ve been to). Having said that, they do have additional charges such as an extra charge for extra sauce or different sauce, or if you are dining in but want a box to take the remainder of your food home - they charged $0.50 for a box.

A total hidden gem, this sushi place is amazing! Decent prices, lots of selection, food is super fresh and the staff is incredibly friendly. Great for lunch and dinner, takeout/delivery or dine in!

Great tasting sushi! Their bento boxes are delightful, good selection of sushi, salad and protein. I usually get the chicken or beef. I like the hot tea they have. The owners are always very grateful. Outside seating in the summer is a plus. Good regular spot. Thanks!

Good quality and amount of veggie sushi for the price! I recommend their yam roll.Service over the phone was good, I requested to switch a roll for another roll and they did so gladly.

Joy Sushi is my go-to sushi restaurant in the Burnaby area. There are sushi restaurants that are a lot fancier, but none beats the value Joy Sushi offers. Also, when I ordered using delivery apps, Joy Sushi remembered my preferences (extra wasabi). Such attention to detail is why I love Joy Sushi. The quality of sashimi is pretty consistent and delicious as well!
