Wellington Medical Clinic

We are a family and every time we go there for the kids is going worse. We are lucky we don't have any serious issue, but at least with toddlers and infants they should look a bit what they are doing. Last time they cross the vaccination books of my kids and were going to put the wrong vaccine to one of them (unbelievable!) and they have 3 years difference.We use to wait there for at least 30min - 1 hour every time we go there, that wouldn't be that bad if then they care and take time on their patients, but no.Dr. Oishi doesn't look either he takes time enough look on the patients, but he runs off the room and you don't even know that the visit is finished. When you do the math in the time you are waiting and the time spent with patients you start wondering what they are doing.I'm so disappointed with this clinic at that point I don't even trust them anymore, probably last time we go there.It has been that bad that I wrote this review (my first one).

The ways in which this clinic has gone down hill in the last year cannot be emphasised enough. First the doctors' hours have vastly decreased and the clinic, which used to open at 7am and close at 7pm, is basically now just opened in the middle of the day making it really inconvenient if you work. The last 3x I was there over a 5 month period, I could not help but notice how dirty it had become, too. The floors were always a mess when I was there and the examining rooms increasingly dingy. Then it became next to impossible to get through on the phone to make an appointment, and when I did get through was told more than once to go to the associated after hours clinic, which in turn told me they can't see me for some follow-up problems, emergencies only, because they don't have access to my file. Dr. Kwan, when I do get to see her, is nice but gives perfunctory physical exams and doesn't really seem to know her medicine very well. This clinic makes AppleTree look good.

NOT a walk-in clinic. Appointment only. They do not answer phone calls, though, and their voicemail suggests they are a walk-in clinic. Do not waste your time coming here.

I was very happy with Dr. Oishi and especially with his model of practice. Unfortunately this morning I went there at 7 a.m. as is my usual practice when I feel I need to see the doctor and found that he is no longer accepting walk-in patients. I'm very sorry to hear this and I had to go and find another walk-in clinic as I needed immediate attention.

I started going to the clinic just days after it opened and it has been the best medical care experience I've had. The original walk-in model was convenient, though a little while back Dr. Oishi switched to appointments only. Not as convenient, but so far I've been able to get appointments either the same day or within 24-48 hours, which is way better than what I was used to elsewhere. Dr. Oishi is an excellent doctor and very easy to discuss with. The rest of the staff is also very competent and friendly.

Dr. Oishi is one of the best doctors from whom I've had the pleasure of receiving care. He puts his full focus on your needs, treats you with sincerity and kindness, and truly thinks about your issues, instead of immediately jumping to the easiest solution. He's exactly the kind of family doctor we had wished for, and we feel lucky to have his care. Icant recommend him highly enough.

You will consistently be made to wait for your appointment. And I am not talking 5 minutes after your scheduled appointment but waiting 30min to 1hr after your scheduled appt time. This has been a issue over the last few years and they still haven't addressed the issue.

I'm really unsure how to reach this office as there is no answer when I call. It rings and disconnects. How exactly does one book an appointment?

I love Dr. Oishi. He is really into into trying new procedures and using technology to reduce wait times. He is great at explaining things and takes the time if necessary to talk with you. The only reason for 4 stars is the hours the clinic is opened which have been greatly reduced over the years making it difficult to get an appointment. I do not know the reason for this but it it makes getting into see him often take longer.
