Dr Johal is very professional, and he performed surgery on me that has improved my life a great deal and I would highly recommend him to anyone that requires surgery. His office is run by a highly efficient administrator, she pays attention to detail and makes sure everything goes like clockwork when it comes to your surgery. The unexpected benefit I got from going to Dr Johal’s office, he asked I get a sleep test before the surgery, and it turned out I have sleep apnea. Having never been tested I never knew this and with this new information I got a CPAP machine, and I have been sleeping better than ever. All in all, a great experience for an otherwise horrible thing to go through surgery. I normally don’t take the time to do reviews, but in this case I thought I would as I got exceptional service.Jazz

We have been referred to Dr. Johal for a possible gastroscopy procedure but haven't heard back from his office yet. This is for a friend of mine who is suffering from some abdominal pain on her gallbladder area. I have heard many good things about Dr. Johal and hope to meet him soon.

Dr. Johal and a talented team performed a hernioplasty for a right inguinal hernia on me. In general, I am quite happy. I have had no problems since and recovered easily. It's been 6 weeks from the surgery and I am extremely happy with the results. I want to thank everyone from the wonderful receptionist Ms. Galina to kind nurses at New Westminster Surgery Clinic. I would definitely recommend Dr. Johal.

While I don't wish a hernia on anyone, if you are afflicted, you cannot hope for a better practitioner than Dr Johal to operate on you. Let me add my voice to those who give this surgeon 5-star reviews.The first sign that you are in excellent hands is how happy the nursing staff at Mount St. Joe’s are about working with him. When it comes to hernias, my family tree is well-represented. In my sixties, I developed a second hernia and was referred to him. At first things seem straightforward but during my first walk after the operation, my keen-eyed nurse companion confirmed that a fresh bulge had emerged. While some less scrupulous physicians may use this to double-dip the consultation process, Dr Gurp Johal kept me in a state of pre-surgical preparation, and the second hernia was fixed quickly and as successfully as the first.I scheduled a follow up appointment with his convivial secretary and organizer, Galina, and confirmed what I suspected: everything went very well indeed.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Johal. From the initial consultation until the final follow up, Dr. Johal was warm and caring, but always very professional. There was a minor hiccup that was attended to immediately, with Dr. Johal personally calling me to make sure that everything was going smoothly, which was something that I have yet to experience with any other doctor (including doctors in the US when I lived there) While I was going through my final appointment at the Community Outreach Clinic for wound care, the nurse helping me commented on how impressed she was with the incision and how little of a scar there was. I was impressed that I had a belly button again (I had a large umbilical hernia), as I had come to grips that I wouldn't have one again. Thank you so very much Dr. Johal! I would highly recommend Dr. Johal!

It's quite rare to find a physician that takes the time to ask important questions, listen patiently, and carefully think about how to approach one's health concerns.
