Camping municipal de la Pointe

Beautiful campground. Some spots overlooking the water. Very clean facilities. Super friendly staff. They were full but made space for us throw our tent down! So grateful!The camp ground is a five minute walk to a stunning beach park.

The good - nice staff, clean bathrooms, convenient location. Just a few minutes walk down to the park along the river. The bad - small sites and very busy campground. Stayed in site 97 which was right on the road and across from the ice cream stand. Quite a bit of road noise. Stayed on a Saturday evening and there must be a dance club or something in the businesses across the street. The thump, thump, thump of dance music kept me up that evening which was really annoying.

It has a nice price point, and that's it. Pretty depressing otherwise. Nothing for the kids to do, the sites which are not on the vista side are nicely secluded from each other but the ground is uneven so they are not very comfy, zero interesting things to see and do. Best thing is the ice cream shop just outside the gate - try it. We're on a camping roadtrip, this camping park easily takes the crown of the worst one yet, and it's not close.

Nice campsites with lots of trees.Only downside is that burning regular wood is prohibited but you must purchase processed brickets for fires.

We stayed here overnight on our way to Newfoundland. What a great find! Clean, well equipped sites. A 5 minute walk to the beach. Great service and great views over the St. Lawrence River.There are a few sites beside the entrance, which are right on the roadside. Avoid these at all costs; they will be noisey!

We had a good time here, enjoyed our camping stay, and the free bicycles! The kids played on the park, the laundry and bathroom facilities were clean.We were placed near the front entrance, however, in a tent-trailer - and the noise from giant motor homes coming and going was quite disruptive. Also- though this isn't the campground's fault, there was some sort of party going on every night either in the park below the hill, or on the roof top of some adjacent building which just about drove us crazy.

Always a pleasure to stay here. Close to the city of Rivière-du-Loup and nice natural environment. Thanks Bruno at the gate. He does a great job managing the park. You meet great people at the park as well. On a long journey, a place to relax!

Very clean, friendly staff. Not our cup of tea, municipal camping but got off the road late. Well kept regardless would recommend if you're not into wilderness camping and prefer municipal camping.

Great place to set up RV

We are travelling for last 6 months! This place was wonderful in comparison with other places. We arrived quite late, but the man at the gate was very nice and welcoming and open for business. He switched to English, because our French is very poor. His name I think was Dominique.The price was $45, but we had water, electricity and toilet hook up. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. No need for change for shower. The water was not hot, but good enough to have a shower. They also had a small laundry room. There is a playground for children and every spot has its own garbage container. They gave us a map of the campground and it was very easy to get oriented and find our place. We were told to leave at noon follow day.
