Court At Laurelwood Retirement Residence

I volunteer here 4 times a week and I find this a very nice volunteer home with a overall peaceful and elderly-friendly environment.

ive heard about a occupant at this home having personal belongings and large amounts of cash being stolen. legal alternative measures have to be taken at occupants cost because the home wont help. if there is one case of a persons belongings and cash being taken i wonder how many many other cases they have at this home? like i dont know anything about the conditions or anything else about this place other then confirmation on theft of an occupant that has been on going for up to a year or more. seems like the home should be able to regulate the security of occupants much better. cameras check out of personal who enter units ect. multiple thefts from a single person tells me this place is very lenient and theifs arent worried about getting caught

Great time entertaining the residents at Laurelwood (Jimmy's Old Time Radio Show). Everyone spoke highly of the facility, their lunch that day, the staff, kudos all around.

Excellent place when you are ready to retire and stop mowing lawns and shoveling snow.

They refuse to hire people who don't take the experimental vaccines" and explicitly state it. This is a violation of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms."

Incredible communication between Admin and rest of staff, especially dining room staff (who were great and always cheerful). Roomy, very comfortable accommodations. Good food and all day bistro with fruit, snacks and hot drinks. I like to see how organizations solve problems (they’re going to happen!) I advised of an internet issue at dinner time and it was fixed by lunch next day. Considering outside provider involved in fix I think that was great. Other residents friendly and in a short time made some new friends. Cleaning and maintenance staff top notch! Surprisingly reasonable price considering the great valueLONG REVIEWCan't be beat for a respite stay or longer.Complementary room service for first few days as a post-surgical resident was appreciated. 2 room respite suite with large living dining equipped with full size fridge and microwave, café table and chairs with love seat, 2 arm chairs, side tables and TV bench with mid-size TV. Very large bedroom with tons of closet space; dresser and 2 night tables plus upholstered chair. VERY spacious washroom with lots of turning room for walker or wheelchair; step in shower with seating (shower chair also provided; as was the toilet seat booster for post-surgery needs). Private patio was an unexpected bonus and really enjoyed on sunny afternoons in fall.Dining room offered interesting food choices daily with some really imaginative salads and a Sunday Dinner to really look forward to. Servers were very good, but also fun and enjoyable. The communication was not expected – my first day in the dining room the servers were already aware of foods I could not eat – did not expect that – especially for a short term resident. That level of detail permeated my experience at Court At Laurelwood. While touring and discussing my stay the Sales Agent, Josip, made a point of getting to know me as an individual, not just my specific respite needs. He commented that part of that was to know me so he could match me with complementary table mates in the dining room. 10 out 10 on that effort; new friends made.There were a number of activities on offer although my health needs prevented me from joining most. I really enjoyed the conversations I got involved with in the Bistro and the many lounges throughout the residence. The grounds are well kept and the walkway that circumnavigates the building was great for the walking I needed to do as physiotherapy. (and multiple access points if I needed to cut walk short)Staff, (reception, evening & overnight concierge, admin, maintenance) all friendly and helpful. They really left the impression they were there to be sure residents had an enjoyable stay. The value was tremendous with a very reasonable cost for an exceptional level of service!My daughters asked what I liked best and my response was how simple everything was, from in-suite living to dining, to entertainment and good company, staff residents.I have no regrets over my choice, my life and surgical recovery were made so much easier by people and surroundings of Court At Laurelwood.

Good place to have your loved ones living in but horrible one to work for!

My father is not an easy person to please. He was initially hesitant and anxious to leave our house to stay anywhere else as he had always be with us - at least for the past few years. It only took him a few days not only to adjust but to feel very happy and comfortable at Court at Laurelwood. Every single day he has had only positive comments about the people, the facilities, the food and the care he gets there. Having said that, we have all had a fantastic experience with Court at Laurelwood. Big shout out to Josip, Viviana, Joey Lay and all the staff at the front desk and services. You are all fantastic and would strongly suggest this place to anyone. As a matter of fact, I have decided I will go there myself some day.

When looking for a place to retire I looked at many homes in the area (around 8) and made the decision to come to the Court at Laurelwood because of affordability and pet friendliness. The Court at Laurelwood was the only place with 3 large storage closets and the heating/air are controllable from a unit not from the ceiling. The staff here are very friendly and always willing to help me. They have a great activities director who works hard to please us and plans programs we enjoy! I am happy here, thank you.
