Very judgemental doctor who nearly killed me when he disconutined my meds for no reason i ended up with hallucinations, PAWS and i will never recover from that traumatic experience. This was over a decade ago. I seen him 3 years ago and didnt remember until a month or 2 of seeing him then i was like no wonder hes not helping me hes not a very good doctor who doesnt care if your suffering or not all he cares about is his lincese which should be revoked.

Doesn't listen..at all, messes up my prescription that my pharmacist was confused, pushes drugs that I have really bad side effects and I refuse to take. Did not ween me off pills when switching me up. All the bad reviews are right on. Do not recommend!!! I told my family dr. And he found me a new pyschiatrist right away. The month that I was seeing dr rizvi my blood pressure was super high from extra stress he caused. I am not a druggie so the bad review isn't based on him declining me any meds. If you like pill pushing drs then rizvi is for you. If you want to get better and have a better understanding of your illness than stay away.

In my honest experience he has very little knowledge of the effects of medications, or just doesn't care about the effects they could have. During my last session before I decided that I would not be returning, he asked whether or not I was still using alcohol and marijuana. Although these are very good and reasonable questions for a psychiatrist to ask, he would ask so around 7 or 8 joints per day?" And to anyone who has smoked marijuana knows that is absolutely rediculous. Moving forward when speaking about my drinking

It is worth the wait to find someone who is good at their job and cares about their patients. This is NOT what you will get from Dr. Rizvi. Please, for your own mental health, go somewhere else. His receptionist will NEVER return your calls. He actually let me run out of meds and wouldn't refill even with the pharmacy asking. He had me off meds for 3 days before he would renew them because it didn't work with his timeline. He never explained side effects. When I told him that I needed to be notified of appointments he threw his receptionist under the bus and said that she didn't reach out to me and it is all her fault. No one calls you back. He is arrogant, he is rude, he is unprofessional. He will cut you off, he will tell you that you are being irrational, he will put you down for having mental health issues. AVOID AVOID AVOID. He should be reviewed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

This man has no respect or care for his patients whatsoever. He has repeatedly ignored my concerns about my mental health, and has changed my medication doses without consulting me. The medication he has me on is making me feel worse and I’ve said this many times, but he seems to not care as he just keeps changing doses without me asking. This along with how hard it is to contact him, his lack of knowledge about substance use (suggesting 8 joints and 12 drinks a day are a “normal” amount), and him insisting that my mental illnesses arent real, I’ve given up on him as my doctor. He’s wasted months of my time, and I’d strongly advise against letting him waste yours too

All these negative reviews are not the reflection of the Doctor that I know.I have been seeing him for just over 2 years. I had previously been trying drug therapy, unsuccessfully, with my family doctor. After asking multiple times to see a specialist, I finally got one and I am impressed. My first visit was emotional. We went over my long history of symptoms, the medications I was trying and the most recent triggering event in my life that was sending me over the edge.I don't know why people feel like he doesn't care, because he has always asked me about how I'm doing, at home and with the people I work with. He is not a man of man words, but if you're honest with him about your symptoms, side effects and your medication habits, you will be put on medication that works eventually. It took many months and trying different things before I got a combination treatment plan that worked for me. I can tell you that for the first time in my life, I'm stable and my symptoms are very manageable most of the time. It's the best I've felt in atleast 15 years.THIS NEXT BIT IS IMPORTANT!Everyone's treatment is different. It's not a one size fits all and it doesn't happen over night. He's not a counselor so if you're looking to just talk about your problems, then you want to see a psychologist (or counselor) and not a psychiatrist (a doctor that specializes in mental health medication). You have to pay to see a psychologist because they are not covered under OHIP. He and his secretary have a list of free public health counselors to see if you need the emotional therapy to use in conjunction with your medication therapy. Just a heads up, that because it's public health program, there are wait lists. That's not the Doctor's or his secretary's fault, it's an issue with the public health system itself.I am very thankful to have him as my Doctor.

This doctor is absolutely dangerous. He should not be practicing medicine at all. His views and methods are outdated. His attitude is garbage, and it is damn near impossible to get a hold of him.Oh and he usually doesn’t believe your symptoms. Prescribed me 2 different medications on my assessment visit over the phone.

Dr Rizvi is amazing! He has kept me on the same normal routine for over 5 years with nothing but success. He is a dedicated, caring doctor. Does blood tests on time every time and treats you like an actual person. You can really tell he cares. The only disputes I've seen there are drug addicts not getting what they want, but hey that used to be me, so I'm not judging. He really does what he's supposed to do. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Rizvi is a wonderful doctor, he has been helping me for over 6 years. He always listens and I am very comfortable sharing my feelings and concerns.I was horrified to read such terrible reviews and can only guess that these bad reviews are coming from people who think they can get narcotic perscriptions and were turned away. People should understand that he is a psychiatrist not a psychologist, if you need therapy and a long appointment then you should make an appointment with the appropriate doctor. If you truly need help then Dr. Rizvi is an excellent doctor. I am so grateful that he is my doctor. He also has a wonderful assistant Sharon who always has a smile for you.

I want to give him a half star because he was very and I mean Extremely rude to my aunt. His visits are only 5-10 min and off you go. He doesn't give you chance to talk. He's asking very stupid and akward questions. And he makes you feel very uncomfortable. I do not like him at all. The medication he prescribed made me made me gain weight and made me feel sleepy 100% of the day. He's very rude to people. Especially me .
