The staff at the welcome counter were extremely friendly and provided me with what I needed right away. Thank you for the amazing service - however, the attendant at the parking garage below where you pick up the actual car was far from friendly and is the only reason why I will not be returning to this location. I’ve been a loyal Avis customer for years, both for corporate travel and leisure, and will be asking National or Hertz to match my status and moving to them. The car was fine, the trip was fine, but there’s no reason why there had to be such unpleasant, confrontational service.

I had a little hiccup with my car picked, the manager proactively called, apologized and corrected my experience. I have to admit it is rare to see manager caring for their customer experience. I want to congratulate the manager for doing a great job!! I would recommend this location for future car rental.

I write this as advice to any customer whom will read this, PLEASE DONT USE AVIS FOR YOUR CAR RENTAL SERVICES, PLEASE! I ask of any customer, select another company. Avis has the poorest level of customer service and don’t go near to over and beyond for their customers let alone the minimum.Instead of them holding their deposit of 750, they charged me the amount and more. However, they keep telling me which is over 3 weeks now that my money will be returned and I need to talk to the bank. I contact the bank, and they confirm that Avis charged me the amount and it wasn’t actually hold.Each time I call Avis, I get a different answer which doesn’t align with their colleagues. The customer service department is poor, it’s like you’re dealing with robots, disconnected department.Now Avis dont want to return my money till I give them extra information which I can’t get till end of July. This information wasn’t to my attention till the third week. So I get penalties on my credit card for a mistake they made and am held ransom for their own poor level of work.I will do my utmost best to inform anyone near me or work not to use Avis. Just give back people their money. We respected and returned your car, just give me my money back!!!!

To Avis,I dont get it what DM means. Leave an email address so that I will share the information of reservation to youI returned vehicle at 20 Front St W, toronto, ontario, M5J 2W5 around 11:00 on June 12.There was one guy looking after Budget and Avis Rental car return at P1 level. You should find who was working on that day.I had a problem to enter the Avis and Budget parking lot because the bar was not lifted.The GUY came to me and shouted to me. He said I need to insert the ticket to the machine so that bar is lifted. My ticket didnt work because I spent about 12 minutes in the parking building to find the place of Avis and Budget.He told me that is my fault because I spent 12 minutes so ticket has to be paid. I asked him where I can pay the charge for the ticket. He told me no way to pay. Then he blamed me why I spent 12 minutes.During the conversation with him, he insulted me over and over such as “others have no problem to insert the ticket to lift the bar while I am the person who cause the problem and cause others not to enter and block them.” “Do not say sorry and do not say yes if you cannot understand what I am saying”He treated me so disrespectful and blamed me I am not fluent in English.He told me He is the only one looking after the returned car so he told me I should understand him.Why he yelled, shouted, insulted and blamed me? He should complain to his boss on this matter he is the only one looking after Avis and Budget rental car return.I want you to fire him because he makes your reputation ruined.I want you to think this matter seriously.I dont know why other people also act so politely in front of him even though he treated Avis customer so disrespectful.It’s about your brand and reputation.Do not make him work for ruining your brand.I would go to enterprise next time I will visit Toronto because they gently gave an advice me when I was lost to find Avis and Budget return location in the building.I dont get it what DM means. It’s a bit tricky to get to. Best to ask the concierge at the door. Staff are friendly and they had lots of clean cars. Getting out is a little tight for nervous drivers but it’s not too bad.

Had horrible experience renting car through Uber. For pick up location it showed two locations for some reason - one at Billy bishop airport and another one at 161a Bay Street. In billy bishop nobody knew where to find those Uber rental cars (Avis) and when I tried to call several times to phone number provided, nobody could say how I can pick up the car, where to call and how to find this location.I spent 40 min on the phone with several customer service representatives and nobody knew what to do. After 40 min of trying to understand HOW to rent the car and what are the steps and where it is located at billy bishop or at 161 bay st, I cancelled the reservation.

Booked a vehicle with my work’s perk program, but at the pickup (4/21 noon) I was told I need to “buy an insurance”. I had no time to check up his claim so had to pay. This unexpected, additional item made the total price way higher than other car rentals.

They are now open on Sunday which really helps in returning a car that you rented for the weekend. I think they need to take care of their cars a little bit better though. The one I had could have used either an alignment or a balancing or new tires.

Took an hour to find the office because there is no posted signage or directions. It was a Saturday and no info desk staff or similar, to provide directions. Car pickup took ages and the manager (the only attendant working) just ignored me while working on another vehicle or something. Another traveller showed up right after and had the EXACT same experience - was nice to bond over the shared situation. Car was adequate but windshield fluid was almost out; not helpful during Ontario winter with salt constantly crusting the windows

My go-to rental place. It’s definitely on the pricier side compared to other options. But service is consistent. Staff are polite and competent. Cars are always ready, clean and updated with a full tank of gas. It’s true there is a some confusion my first time finding the front desk on the Concourse (around the corner left and left from the elevators closest to Bay St) versus the on garage desk on P1. This is downtown Toronto after all and right by Union Station. So this maze is typical of the PATH underground walkway. Some signage by the elevators hall could help. Maybe give yourself some extra time.
