Rip Rap Campsite

Beautiful campground near Bella Coola. Great river viewing platform and majestic views of the mountains. Lots of nice personal touches and great facilities.

Fantastic! Tatla School just spent a week camping at Rip Rap Campground. The weather was incredible! It was the last week of May and there were no bugs. We had hot weather and sunshine. There wasn't even any dew. This place is absolutely magical!!! The washrooms and hot showers are incredible!!!! We stayed in tents and cabins. Everything was clean and tidy!!! It was quiet and peaceful!!! There is a beautiful viewing platform over the river. Our students sat there and wrote in their Nature Notebooks. There is a gazebo where we worked on art projects. There is even a funky clubhouse for kids to hang out complete with books and games. Centennial Pool, where we took swimming lessons is right across the road. I can't say enough good things about this place!!! The hosts are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!!!

Got a cabin to spend the night there when visiting the area and encountering iffy weather for camping. Hosts were lovely, the whole property and campsite were amazingly well maintained and a joy to stay in. The washhouse was just great to use and kept very clean and was very well appointed. Will definitely come back to stay here again when back in the area and recommend anyone else in the area to definitely visit. The viewpoint of the river was a great place to drink the morning coffee.

Wow! We have been to many many campgrounds and Rip Rap Campsite is far and beyond the best campground we have ever been to. The hosts clearly put in a lot of effort to ensure the place is spectacularly clean, tidy, and well-maintained; and it is so much appreciated.The grounds are beautiful with great mountain views, cool common-area indoor spaces, outdoor gazebo's with firepits that they lit at night, and a viewing platform over the river for bear viewing which is great to sit and have a few drinks at while bear watching (which we saw some black bears).I don't know why anyone would choose to spend thousands to stay at the lodges when you will have an equally amazing experience here. We would love to re-visit Bella Coola again purely for returning to this campground!

I’ve been travelling all over Canada for the past 18 days, and this campsite was the highlight! It’s so beautiful, everything is thoughtfully placed, arranged, decorated, beautiful gardens - it’s a lifestyle not a campground. Amazing river deck, green grass so you can potter around with no shoes, views are just stunning.Best campsite in Canada by a mile!

Jim and Amber keep the grounds and facilities immaculate. Peace and Quiet all around. Dog Friendly, we have 3 little ones and no issues with us staying at Rip Rap!

Best campsite around. Top notch management and always attracts great people. Super central location, right on the water makes for easy access to good fishing holes. Been staying here for 4 straight years, can't wait for year #5!

Amazing experience, very clean, beautiful location, very nice and helpful people.The cabin is very well equipped, well thought through with nice little details to make your stay very enjoyable (there is even electricity and a refrigerator, just bring your own sleeping bag and pillow (can also be rented I think, if needed). Good general store 5 min walk away. Camping site is next to a beautiful river and amazing mountains. Very nice and clean showers (“you can shower with the loonies ;-) ”). And very helpful and friendly people who really try to make your stay very enjoyable. Will absolutely recommend.

Amazing views, amazing place, amazing people. We stayed at the cedar cabin, it is cozy, with lots of character, really clean and organized and the bedrooms are specially comfortable compared to your typical hotel room. The river with a few good fishing spots is accessible right from the property. A real gem in the valley, lots of personal touches and genuine loving people running it, will come back here in the future 100% thanks for making our first experience in the valley so unique!
