The best place to learn bjj but also just learn about yourself and your capabilities. Definitely not easy but worth it. Marcus and all the instructors do a great job helping with learning bjj and everyone is so friendly and kind like a brotherhood

Since I joined in March of 2019, I lost 20 lbs! My confidence has improved immensely. The level of teaching is great & second to none and my level of Jiu- Jitsu has gone up because you get to roll with all belts levels and everyone teaches you along the way. My favourite thing about the class is the intense warm ups and at the end of the day that keeps you safe and able to roll!

I’ve been training with Marcus Soares for a year now and the instructors never cease to challenge us and provide the best training sessions. I credit a huge part of my mental and physical health to them and the dedication they have for their students. Definitely not a 'soft' martial arts school for kids. If you want your money to go far and for your kids to build real confidence in their abilities on the mat, this is the top recommendation in Maple Ridge and Langley. Too many other martial arts locations are focused on signing contracts and extracting every dollar from you without delivering anything meaningful for your child. Highly recommended over the likes of Curran's karate.

If you are looking for the best BJJ instruction in town, this is the place to go. I am a 30+ year old woman who wanted to learn and this team has helped me do just that. Most of the students are males and have been with Marcus for a while. They are highly skilled and helpful. Since I joined about a year ago, I have seen quite an increase in women joining the classes which is great. All 3 locations are clean and well maintained. All the coaches are very approachable and knowledgeable which I find really helpful specially for me with zero background in martial arts.Marcus Soares is an 8th degree black belt with 50 years of experience on the mats. They offer all levels, beginners and advanced classes so you'll definitely find something that suits you.

We came upon Marcus Soares when looking for martial arts for our daughter.Since my very first call to them, they have been nothing but professional welcoming and very accommodating!My daughter who was 4 when she started had a bit of an adjustment to being in a class with kids and instructors she didn't know. Marcus and Dana are very invested in their students. Absolute family feel with this dojo. Throughout the week my kids get a broad influence of advanced jui jitsu leaders/coaches. #MarcusSoares jui jitsu is an ideal place to have your kids learn strong life values such as self respect, mental control and physical control. I have been training with marcus’ team for almost two years, the level of instruction is excellent but more importantly the quality of the people at the gym is second to none.
