Turquoise Goat Board Game Cafe
We went in at around 930 and were told that the cafe would close earlier than 11pm due to lack of people(?). When i went in, there were about 4 other tables busy playing. I consider this policy pretty strange. I had expected to be able to play at least a few games, but with this early closure, i could only play one. They explained beforehand they could reduce the fee slightly to $7 because of the early closure. Still, since the usual max sitting time is 3 hours, i felt like we overpaid somewhat to essentially be only able to play one game. About the price, it is good overall that they include a living wage into their pricing, so this is just a complaint about the early closure and having to leave so soon. (One game is never enough!)The boardgame hosts and staff were friendly, and the rubber ducky drink was as cute as on the picture (and delicious).I wish they would respect the time of patrons who come there later ay night and not close early since patrons have already planned their timing around the opening hours. Also, i love rubber duckies, but these minirubber ducks float lopsided in a bath because they have a airhole at the bottom, so its more for decoration only.

This place is phenomenal and I highly recommend! This is a board game cafe with plenty of fun party board games and some pretty good food. They have a cocktail (virgin version available too) with a rubber ducky in it, which you can keep and take home! Parking is a bit difficult (and expensive) around here, but it’s close to the Gastown Skytrain Station. They also pay the workers there a living wage, so tips aren’t needed at all, which is much appreciated for businesses nowadays, and all students get discounts on entry on Wednesdays :)

Great place to come for boardgames with a wide variety of games to play. You have to pay $10 per person to play.We thought if we ordered food equivalent to the cost of the entrance fee, then we wouldn't have to pay it but we were wrong (we asked our server and were told we didn't have to but I guess we misunderstood). My friend also said when she came previously, she didn't have to pay the entrance fee as she ordered food.Overall, not a bad experience, just a misunderstanding and I would come back again.

Highly recommend for all boardgame lovers! For $10/person entrance for 3 hours, this is a great way to spend the afternoon. The staff are attentive and nice and even teach you how to play the games so you don’t need to read the instructions!! Bonus points for the store paying their employees a living wage (customers are not required to tip) and accessible washrooms. There are many games and the staff ensure all pieces are accounted for after each game - great attention to detail. We got some food to eat: chicken strips and waffle fries, soup, tea, hot chocolate and zucchini chocolate loaf. The food was average but good to nibble on. We played Photosynthesis and Hues & Cues, we liked them both. Looking forward to coming again!

Great place to hang out and try boardgames before buying! Decent price of $10 for 3 hours per person with a variety of food, drinks, and snacks for purchase. Highly recommended to make a reservation!Service is very friendly and attentive. They are so patient and will explain a game with all its rules to you so you can get playing faster. Love that tips are not required as they are all paid a living wage.I recommend their lucky duck drink as it comes with an adoptable lil duck for a souvenir! Their buttermilk pancakes are delicious and fries are satisfying to snack on while playing. We played Pandemic and Ticket to Ride! Super fun and can't wait to come again.

We had a great time. The staff were overly friendly and attentive, Ethan especially. The chicken tenders certainly earned their name, super tender, and their games are on a whole other level of clean. Much better than the Lucia with covers and lamination (although the Ludica does have a larger selection).I do want to mention though that I wish there were more filling foods, but that's fine, I get it. This is centered around games with snacks on the side that shouldn't get the games dirty.

Walked past this place a few times and finally got the chance to check it out. We made a reservation at 6:45 and it was quite busy on a Thursday evening. So many games to choose from including childhood favorites Trouble and Candyland. Staff were also super helpful and friendly. Cant wait to try some other games next time!

Wow! I had such a fantastic time at Turquoise Goat! Wednesdays are student discount night, so take advantage of that if you're in university. BOOK AHEAD! It costs nothing to make a reservation and it will absolutely guarantee you a spot. I unfortunately saw a few people get turned away due to capacity limits. There were so many games to choose from. We played Exploding Kittens, Sabobatage, Wizard Thieves, and Coop. We liked Wizard Thieves so much, we bought a copy to take home! Wizard Thieves is also by a local artist!Food and drink was pricey, but they do not ask for tips as they pay their employees a living wage, so it works out about the same as what you would pay at most casual sit-down restaurants. I got the Lucky Duck drink and it was SO YUMMY! We also split chicken and fries, it was good but pretty standard, nothing crazy. All employees were super nice and helpful. Most of our games were recommended by a game steward.Definitely worth it to come here! Entry is a good price, but take into account food and drink costs and plan ahead. Loved it!

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I felt very comfortable and welcome there. The staff is very helpful and will give you suggestions for games and explain how to play them if you don’t know. They have lots of game options and my favorite was anomia if you’re a bit group.I recommend 100% the cheddar corn fritters, they are so tasty I am still dreaming of them.Great place to hang with friends, definitely recommend
