Verna's Laguna Special Buko Pie

I was happy to discover this store because I really do not know any place that sells buko pie in Toronto. Thank God it is situated in an accessible and convenient place! I had to try the pie because the reviews said they were pretty good and my best friend recommended to try it as well!Don’t expect their pies to taste like Colette’s buko pie in the Philippines.Verna’s version is totally different.The buko pie is less sugary compared to Colette’s; texture is soft like mashed coconut inside, but you’ll still see and taste the crunchiness of the solid slices of coconut in the pie. The dough and crust were good as well! I appreciated how thin the edge crust was because you’re not chewing on too much starch when you reach the last part of your buko pie slice.I was lucky to meet the owners, Myrna and Vern. They were so friendly and hospitable.They even gave me a little backstory of their business!*Thank you for giving me a free taste of the egg pie! I’ll definitely order the egg pie next time because I like sweet desserts (Egg pie was sweeter than buko pie).They offer mango, ube, and 3 other flavors of pie. There were also other kinds of pastry in the store, but I was in a rush so I didn’t catch the names. I’d recommend this to anyone! Great gift to give for christmas too!

I tried the Buko Pie for the first time this morning! I was really surprised cause I had no idea what it was. It is a Philipino dessert made with fresh young coconut. The crust was made fresh and the inside was so tasty!! It had a soft custard taste and wasn't overly sweet like most coconut desserts! I had never tried anything Philipino but will definitely buy this again! I would recommend anyone to try as well. They are a small place in The Bathurst and Wilson area. There is also parking.

The buko pie here is so fresh and tastes good even when cold from the fridge before warming up! Not too sweet and the crust is perfect. Better than some buko pie from Laguna lol. Definitely recommend, ang sarap talaga!!Update: my boyfriend loves coming back to this place for buko pie. We tried the ube pie for my grandpa's birthday and it was great. Mirna and Vern were so kind to give my boyfriend a tshirt too! Thank you po!!

As a native person from Laguna, the taste of their egg pie really takes me home! My tastebuds were transported back to childhood memories when I was still at my home country.. outstanding!We were given a taste test of buko pie which was made with real/fresh coconut, as opposed to canned buko ones. We’ll definitely be back and try the ube pie next.

My brother Ver, the owner of Verna's Special Laguna Buko pie, brought their buko pie here in the Philippines when they had their vacation to have us a taste of their product. I'd say that it has an authentic taste like the buko pies here in Los Baños, Laguna. The filling is soft and has the right amount of sweetness. We are very proud that Laguna's specialty have reached Canada and our fellow filipinos are enjoying the delicacies of the Philippines even though they are far away from home.

The best pie ever!!!! the buko pie is perfect!!! The taste the texture and the looks tell how yummy is!!! Egg pie so good and ube pie is amazing!!! One bite you can’t stop!!!!! Recommended 100% real pinoy pie!!!
