Upper Canada Lower Bowel Clinic
I chose this clinic for two reasons. The first is that it is close to home less than 10 minutes away and 2nd my good friend had come last year to have colonoscopy and gastroscopy done and was very pleased with the process. As I have nothing else to compare it to all I can say is I was extremely happy. My family doctor sent in the referral , the following day I was called and had an appointment one week later with Dr Tassis. I work as a pharmacist in a busy medical clinic located next to the markham Stouffville hospital so have lots of experience with the bowel preps used as well as know many physicians personally who perform the procedure so had many choices . I also know that reading reviews online can sometimes sway people away from a certain clinic or physician since in my experience most people only want to post negative comments and not when things are positive. They suggested Moviprep as the bowel prep and it was very easy to take - not a large volume and the effects were not too harsh so step one - the preparation went smoothly. I arrived for my 915 am appointment and was greeting by receptionist who was quite pleasant and was given some documents to fill out - a few pages but that was to be expected. I was taken in shortly after to area to change and once ready was promptly wheeled in to the room where procedure was to be done. A nurse set up the IV and Dr Tassis came in to greet and explain the process. Shortly thereafter the anesthetist came in to start the sedation . The next thing I remember was waking up and being greeted by the nurse to tell me it was over. Once I was fully awake and dressed Dr Tassis came in to give my results and I was allowed to leave. I went to waiting area while my wife was called to collect me. the entire process was about two hours . No discomfort at all and I went home relieved that I had finally had this done after delaying for the past five years. Overall was totally impressed and will go back again in five years based on family history . Thank you .

Had a gastric exam at this clinic. Not sure how the clinic received some bad reviews but my experience was very good. Actually I had the best experience among 3 other clinics where I got similar exams. The receptionist was efficient, very nice on email and on the phone providing instructions. The exam time was very accurately on schedule. Nurses and doctors are amazing. Much appreciated their professionalism.

My colonoscopy was very professionally handled. I felt very secure in how the staff not only did their jobs but in their careful explanations throughout the experience. The clinic is short one star to perfection because I object to first names in a professional setting (only once) and exorbitant paper work to fill out; it must be streamlined or put in an interview format. But I would be very happy to be referred there again.

I was not happy with my GI specialist and looking for a new doctor bc I received no treatment plan after a scope was done. Dr. Niculina would not take me on as a new patient and suggested I stay with the GI doctor I already have. The receptionist had to relay this information and I’m not sure if something was lost in translation but all in all, the doctor refused to take me on as a patient. So because I had seen a specialist 4 months prior I was not worth it for her. Specialists these days in Toronto are cherry picking who they will take on as a patient - they are spoiled, greedy, and indifferent! Really sad what the medical playground has become in Ontario! Go back into the clinics! You are all vaccinated doctors and have no excuse to continue treating patients via telephone at the end tail of covid! You are doing more harm than good!

I advise all future patients of Dr.Murray Fisher to search him online and see his reviews so that they can make an informed decision. More then a handful of people having the same unpleasant experience is something worth investigating, especially if it can prevent you from going through what many people, including myself, have. My review somehow got deleted after over a year of being up, again I would strongly suggest a quick web search.

I would put no stars if I could. From my husband’s experience and comparing with my experience at Holly Endoscopy Clinic. I have the following comments:COVID protocols:- no requirement for a mask- no COVID symptom check- after testing positive for COVID 19 the day after being at the clinic, he called the clinic to a response of ‘so what do you want me to do about it’Other:- only prep offered was PEG not PICO- explanation of results not clearly stated- the person picking up was required to go inside the clinic not wait outsideI highly recommend that you avoid this clinic. You have a choice. Put Ontario’s health dollars elsewhere to another clinic.

I've been working with Dr. Margulies and the UCLBC staff for just a few months (Feb '17), but as a 20+yr patient of GI specialists, I am very pleased (and relieved!) by the competent, caring way they run the clinic.GI patients know that our conditions are often treated by symptom and are hard to pinpoint; Dr. Margulies is always thorough and conscientious talking to me about my condition and treatment. The staff are detail-oriented and very friendly, which makes office visits and procedure prep much more comfortable— and that's saying quite a lot!

Absolutely shocking service. Staff are incompetent and highly disorganised. I've been present in the waiting area when many other patients have complained about the service. Don't follow up with positive test findings, have been waiting weeks for some sort of response. Keep getting told someone will call me back, and they never do. All the while I have untreated/unmanaged GI conditions. Dr Win is extremely dismissive, gives advice not relevant to my conditions/symptoms (has similar negative reviews on ratemds). Spoke to the nurse supervisor, completely dismissed my complaints, didn't care, kept saying moving on"

Someone needs to point out that that you still have a website address showing you to be at 170 St. George Street, an address that you have not been at in years.I am disappointed that you won't provide me with a colonoscopy any more now that I am 80. Dying of colon cancer is a painful at 83 as it would have been at 53. I understand your reasoning but still, there it is.
