Dodds Garage Door Systems

I had my garage door installed in March 2023. I am very happy with the final result.Although they originally said it could take 8-12 weeks, my garage door was ready in about 4 weeks. I was happy with the colour matching to my aluminum as well as the ease/speed in which they came back replace a part after installation (the original weather strip was too short, so installer told me he would come back to fix it and he came back the next day).

Dodds supplied and installed two new garage doors and an opener. It was easy working with this company. They were very efficient, delivering outstanding customer service and the product looks and works terrific.Out of a few companies, I asked for an estimate. Dodds was the only one who sent a “real person” to talk to me. That was very important to me because the only thing I know about garage doors is that it’s a door for my garage.Mike Belonsky, the salesperson, took the time to explain the entire process step by step. He presented several options, explaining clearly every single one. We never felt any pressure to buy the cheapest, the more expensive, or doors from Dodds.The delivery and installation date was as it was on the contract.Zaza, the installer, was very professional and helpful. The installation was, as it should be, very professionally executed. For the longest time, I have not seen a service technician so organized with his work, assuring that the installation was complete and perfectly done to the smallest detail. There were no shortcuts for this man. We are pleased with Zaza’s work. Dodds should also be proud of having this professional on their team.

I just had the most professional service tech here. Will Gonzales came on the Friday of a long weekend and made short work of my tensioner repair. Very respectful and extremely polite. Thanks Will and good luck with your smoker.

Spring on my wife's garage door snapped at some point over night. A call to Dodds Garage Door Systems and a technician was sent. Paul was here and gone in approx 1 hour. He changed my wifes spring plus I had him do the other one as a precaution. Good, clean work and all done before 11am the same day.Thank you to all involved that made this happen.You will be highly recommended!Garry

The technician, Dan Rose, was very professional and courteous when he came to replace the springs of my garage door. He is very knowledgeable about his work, and he outlined my options. He explained his task while answering my questions patiently. He did a wonderful job and I am very satisfied with his work.

Excellent service today from Roberto!! Advanced notice when on route, was exactly on time and performed the repair quickly and did a great job - our door is working like new. Very friendly and courteous as well! Would recommend without reservation.

I love my new garage doors they're gorgeous and sleek. I'm not 100% happy with my overall first installation the technician (H.G) didn’t inquire on where I would like my sensors to be located and the interior keypad, he placed them as he liked, the extension cord for one of the garage openers he did not secure it to the wall and the exterior keypad he had it placed on the opposite door stating that he didn't have the right tools to switch it to the correct door. I called customer service with my concerns and they rectify it when they sent another technician and he put everything to rights which made me feel a 1000% better with my installation. They have a good warranty plan in place that I really appreciate that covers a lot compared to other companies. Contract was done in September 2021. Estimated completion was January 2022. Garage door installation was December 2021. Finishing touches January 2022.

Garage door broke leading into the Canada Day weekend. Dodds had someone on site within an hour and on our way within two hours. We cannot say enough about Dodds and Robert who fixed the door and was just lovely. So happy with this experience. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Excellent next day service. The lady on the phone, that returned my weekend non emergency call (!) was very courteous and efficient. Dan did all the servicing he could prior to getting more parts. Left a sticker with the phone number for ease of service and explained the bill in full. Very good company to deal with. I guess that is why I purchased my garage door from them 15 years ago!!!

UPDATE: I emailed Dodds as requested from their response below. I had a response within 24h saying this issue has been escalated and someone would be in touch within 48 hours. It's been a week, nothing.ORIGINAL:Full of regret going with DoddsAll work was subcontracted, and I knew I was in for an experience when the door installer showed up in a rusty minivan with a faint impression of someone else’s logo in the paint.Sales told me everything would be inspected and maintenance performed with the existing door openers, etc, HoweverThere are screws falling out of the new doors because they are stripped; likely because they were installed with an impact drill into relatively thing metal, plus there are screws just missing in general.The door hardware isn’t square to the point where it’s visually obvious.The springs weren’t lubricated and were binding as the door opened and closed causing it to jump and popThe old hardware was re-used to hand the rails and nuts are missing off boltsThe aluminum capping was a missionI was told the aluminum matched the door colour and even confirmed with a sample but what was installed didn’t match the door or the sample. I asked for the matching colour aluminum to be installed but was told it didn't exist. However, I have a Gentek colour deck and sent pictures proving otherwise. The returned to install the matching aluminum.They almost caulked with the same colour as before, but I got wise and started asking questions throughout the installation. I was told there wasn’t a matching colour, but I know better than that. I spoke with the manufacture, Mulco, and found a distributor that had it in stock and paid for it out of pocket. The installer returned to caulk with what I had purchased.Accounting didn’t invoice for the aluminum work, so I assumed they were eating it because of all the hassle. About 10 months after the installation, I get an invoice for the aluminum work. I sent them the above and they didn’t respond but they did take payment from my credit card without my consent.Needless to say, I will not be using them again and do not recommend them.
