I had a couple of guitars worked on a while back and was very disappointed with the work. When I brought my issues to his attention through email, I got a very aggressive response. I first met Darrel (the owner) just over a year ago. I was interested in taking lessons, and had a guitar in need of repair. He gave me an honest opinion on the guitar. He said unless it was sentimental the guitar was not worth the required work, and not just to sell me an instrument either. He has given me advice on purchasing 2 used instruments that I could afford off of craigslist that were within my budget. He has professionally set up both of my guitars for the best possible playability. I have been taking lessons from Darryl now for just over a year I like his teaching style, it is fine tuned to each of his students skill level, he works theory into your lessons in a practical way so you understand what you are doing, so it's not boring, he explaines not only how to do things, but why you do them in that manner. Excellent teacher, quality workmanship on repairs. He truly is a musician helping other musicians.

My son has been going to Darrell for many years for guitar lessons. Darrell often spends extra time after the lesson sending him music to play. He's done backing tracks to play off of as well. The lessons are built properly with a quick warmup in the keys of the days music, and they build up to what he wants to teach that day. They've focused on acoustic, electric, different tunings and more.We have had several guitars worked on over the years and never had an issue with the quality of the work. Darrell runs a quality guitar shop.

I brought my acoustic to Darell to get my action lowered. It was done very quickly and professionally. The guitar plays better than ever. Quality work and neat location as well.

C'mon, how cool is it to find a wickedly cool guitar shop on a country road in acreage land? Then, it turns out to be in a garage, the Garester" (I made this up) does full repairs and a ton of lessons right there! He even let's some students play his inventory which has some real storied Axes! Yup
