So horrible I just can't

My boyfriend and I went after arriving at the ferry early. It was horrible. We were sick after leaving the breakfast sandwich was a greasy mess and the fries and home fries tasted as though they had been fried in rancid grease would not recommend unless you want to be sick the rest of the day.

Thanks to the recommendation of a nice local couple we met, we found our way out to try the crab cakes. We were not disappointed. Friendly service, great food, and a beautifully quiet atmosphere in a working marina makes this locals place a great find for the tourist who wants a taste of the lesser seen side of Vancouver Island. We'd heartily recommend Canoe Cove Joe's to any and all!Visited August 2015

I had been going to Joe’s for breakfast every morning while I had my boat hauled out in the yard.Every morning I had practically the same thing, read the paper, and drank coffee before working on the boat.All was great until a couple of days ago.Joe’s wife was helping out due to a large function and took my order. I’d ordered a plain burger and when my food arrived it had a lot of sauce all over the burger.When I brought it up to Joe’s wife she said she couldn’t see the screen very well when placing my order and that I made her nervous.She asked if I’d like another burger made and I said I’ll just eat this one. No sense wasting it.When I was ready for the bill I noticed I was being charged for the burger ordered in error and brought it up. Normal practise at restaurants is to simply charge the customer for what they ordered, not the incorrect order served.I went up to the till to pay and that’s when things went sideways all of a sudden.Joe’s wife told me I wasn’t allowed to pay and that I was BANNED for being rude to her and her husband Joe.She was very angry and hostile and I was absolutely flabbergasted. I was never rude to Joe ever and I tried pointing out that she was punishing the wrong person but she was to angry to be reasonable.She had served me a total of two times including the last incident and Joe and I had a cordial relationship while I was a customer.Clearly I can’t go back but fair warning to those that do watch out for the crazy wife.

Great location. Overpriced, small portions, mediocre food, condescending staff. Paid twice what it was worth. Too bad. Was a great place in the 90's and early 2000's. Went at lunch and it was almost empty. Obviously everyone working in the area knew that too. Will not go back.

Have to try the Jolly Roger. Fantastic!

Owner was rude and terrible service. There were only 3 tables seated and it took him 5 minutes to seat us.When we replied no to coffee he rolled his eyes and said “Do you at least want breakfast?”We said yes and he left without taking our order. He didn’t return for 10 minutes to our table or anyone else’s.We left without ever having our order taken.

Now known as Canoe Cove Joe's, the food is great, and the service is friendly. Great Seafood chowder!

Omg. The Oyster burgers are soooo good.
