Hope Construction

We had a contractor come in and install a pantry, 2 weeks later we noticed a leak in the basement when the upstairs shower was running, so we called Hope Construction to come investigate and repair as an independant 3rd party. We were quoted for 3-4 days of work, and between labour and materials it would be about $4000. They came, pulled the pantry, found a fitting had failed (so it wasn't due to the previous contractor), replaced the fitting, we decided to not replace the drywall as it would all be hidden behind the pantry anyways, they were in and out in under 2 hours... They've not billed me for almost $3000 even though SIGNIFCANTLY less work was done. Not impressed at all. I called to ask for a detailed line item billing, was told the bookkeeper didn't work that day and the project manager was out of town, but I wouldn't receive final billing until we were able to discuss. I just received a billing notice for an additional almost $700 on top of the $2000 we'd already paid in deposit. Completely ludicrous. Less than 2 hours of work and a $10 fitting should NOT be almost $3000. Received a follow up call and they stated they would credit some of the work that they didn't do (as it wasn't necessary), not sure why it was necessary that I would have to call in to receive credit for work that wasn't necessary (or done), but live and learn, and learn to get multiple quotes from multiple vendors, with detailed line item billing. I'll chalk this up to an expensive learning opportunity, but poor value all around.

The worst customer experience I have ever heard of. No communication, repeated no shows to the job site. Complete and total lack of professionalism, but they will take your money. In fact they need your money before they will book/schedule the job. If you are thinking of booking with this company run away… fast! Had to give them 1 star because 0 stars or a negative review wasn’t an option.

We hired Hope to shingle dozens of our condo units last summer. We granted them the contract SPECIFICALLY based on their promise they'd have the job done by early-fall... The following ensued:- Constant delays, and battles to get them out- Finally they admitted they were falling behind, and hired some additional B-squad". They were inexperienced

I have really enjoyed working with Hope Construction for the last few years. Jeremy, Ron, and the whole team are friendly, honest and sincere people. Mistakes can happen and issues can come up, especially when there are lots of details involved in a project, but serving the customer well is their top priority. I appreciate working with these people!

Hope Construction provided excellent service, quality, and value for my multi year project. They addressed all of my questions professionally and explained what they were doing every step of the way. They told me upfront about potential supply issues and they gave me all the options for available supplies. I was never pressured into purchasing something I didn’t want. Each crew that attended over the three years kept getting better and better. All were professional and thorough. There was nothing for me to clean up afterwards and the work was inspected by Hope Construction after each phase was completed. Everyone with Hope Construction was kind, patient, and understanding. It was a wonderful experience.

I have been waiting 2 months for them to shingle my roof. 2 weeks ago they called 2 days before the scheduled start date to inform me their roofer pulled out. Was told 3 days ago they were to be here today to start, of course they are a no-show and won't respond to text messages. I definitely will not ever use them again and would suggest moving along if you think what they tell you is too good to be true. As it is and they don't back their word.

Hope Construction cut and installed an egress window for me. It was a bigger job than I thought and not without a few hiccups that every job has. Overall I am very satisfied. The work was done quick, right and to the satisfaction of the structural engineer.

I had the pleasure to work with Nadine on planning our basement development. Nadine was resourceful, friendly and answered all the questions we had about the entire process. I definitely recommend.

Communication was constant, always making sure i knew what was happening and updated on timeline and budget. If an issue did come up, which always does in a major project like this, they went above and beyond to make it right.When it came time to open the business they spent countless hours to make sure we met our deadline.In summary… the process couldn’t have been more smooth and I was left with a product that exceeded my expectations!The next time I need construction work done, no matter the size of the project, Hope Construction will be the first company I call!

Hope Construction just did new shingles on our house. I am very happy with the service and work done. I shopped around quite extensively prior to choosing Hope Construction to do the work. Their price was the best. Ron was great to deal with and able to provide the quote without any face to face contact (because COVID19). The crew that was here to do the work was top notch. Very friendly, clean and courteous. Not to mention, safe! All of the guys wore the appropriate PPE and remained tied off on my roof, which was great to see.10/10, I highly recommend Hope for any project.
