We were in a situation where my wife urgently needed to repair three pairs of shoes (leather sole had to be covered with a layer of rubber). Kim's repair shop did the job the very next day. Kim's Shoe & Bag repair is a wonderful gem of a business in the core of downtown Vancouver! I had several pairs of designer leather boots that needed alterations in order to fit the way I wanted them to (I am very finicky with fashion because I have to make public appearances often in my profession), and they were the only ones who agreed to tackle the task, accepting the challenge while still disclosing potential risks with me to ensure my ultimate contentment. Such risks turned out to be unfounded, because Rio, who mans the Hornby branch, did an exceptional job at getting my boots to the most perfect state imaginable! Anyone who's ever written a poor review does not appreciate the value of hard work and masterful craftsmanship, which the family who owns this business clearly displays. I greatly admire their family's determination to pursue a tough business in this city, which often takes timeless hard work for granted. I could not be happier with their service and fine work ethic, and I highly recommend this shop (in all its branches) to anyone in need of a trust-worthy, honest shoe and bag repair service. My partner brought a bag to have the handles repaired. The stitching is done poorly, and the quality of leather used is also very low. Their respond was that the handles are too thick.. something that perhaps should have been communicated before the repair? This level of craftsmanship is disappointing for a place that claims to repair designer items. Do not recommend

5 stars!! I sliced my purse with a knife when opening up the box that it came in from the mail. It was a gift from my mom. I took it right too Kim’s Repair- and 1 week later it was good as new. You can’t even tell that I damaged it. Thank you so much Kim’s repair!! Great pricing too :)

I had experiences with other shops and they ruined my shoes. And my mother highly recommended Mr.Kim has such talented hands for repairing shoes. He has fixed three pairs of my decent shoes and I am extremely happy with what he has done for the shoes. It's well repaired. I'm a very satisfied with the quality of service that he provided for me. In addition, I have couple questions and Mr.Kim responded ASAP even though the shop was closed for holiday. If you are looking for kind service and quality service for repairing your shoes and bags. This is definitely the one that you are looking for.

He was very helpful in reassuring me that I can use one of the zips in both the luggages that I had brought to him.

After some of the really positive reviews I kind of expected better service here. I asked for GYW leather boots to have a new sole applied and to be refreshed, cleaned, polished.He applied the soles appropriately enough, but didn't touch anything else. he did a quick buff when I asked about it, since he had already charged me.There are places in Van that will do a better job for the $85 I paid.edit: the sole on the right foot is coming off. I'm extremely disappointed.

The BEST repair shop in Vancouver!I've been going to Mr. Kim for over a year now and he has repaired over a dozen designer bags for me. Do not hesitate to bring your shoes and bags to him as he is truly incredible. The craftmanship in his work is impeccable, and he is undeniably talented in working with leather, hardware, and other materials. His storefront may not be fancy but you can tell it is the workplace of an artist who is focused on the work at hand.From adding a single grommet to a full paint restoration, he has delivered excellent quality of work and I refuse to take my bags anywhere else. He even has a YouTube channel documenting some of his impressive work with millions of views (his username is @RepairStudio on YouTube)!I've taken my items in need of repair or retouching to multiple places in the area, and he has provided the best service and most reasonable pricing by far. Some of the extremely worn out bags I brought to him came back to me looking brand new.He is also a very transparent and kind person whom you can trust with bringing your valuable items back to life. He is very straightforward with his rates and turnaround time and works very efficiently.I can't thank Mr. Kim enough for the amazing service he provides. I send in my Balenciaga city to Kim's for repair just few weeks ago. I have had the purse for over five years and taken it everywhere when I travel. Imagine how much wear and tear this purse have on it. The corners were wore off and the thread on one side of the shoulder strap was loose. When I visit the shop to pick up my purse, I was amazed by Kim's workmanship. He did a great stitch job for the shoulder strap. The corners were perfectly repainted (in elephant grey which I suppose he needs to mix the paint himself to match the original color). I couldn't tell any color difference. Furthermore, he even fixed a minor scratch on the tassel which was not mentioned to him when I send the purse in. I am super impressed. Guess what, and he charged a very fair price compared to other purse and shoe repair shops out there. I will recommend this shop to my family and friends.
