PC Galore

My laptop wasn't getting past the login screen, so I took it to PC Galore. They did a diagnostic (there was a problem with the hard drive), and gave me several options for how to proceed.  I chose to have a used hard drive installed and my files transferred to my new hard drive.  I also bought a hard drive reader from the store, in case there were any more files to transfer and/or to use in the future.Greg resolved my issue in a couple of days, and he was really helpful with explanation, options, and pricing.  He was easy to get in touch with via text and phone. The total for my service was fair and reasonable.My 13 year old Macbook Pro runs faster now with the new-to-me hard drive, and I think that it will last me until I decide to buy a new laptop.  I would definitely return to PC Galore for future service.Thank you for your help, Greg and PC Galore!

I had a fantastic experience in PC Galore today and I am very grateful to Larry for all his help. I had trouble retrieving a bitlocker key to sign into my device and Larry worked hard trying various methods to recover the key until he was successful! I would highly recommend Larry and PC Galore for any of your technical needs.

PC Galore is a gem in the neighbourhood. They are a convenient place to get all sorts of small computer parts, old and new. They were able to perform more advanced repair like soldering, which I found rare among computer repair shops. Without the proper tools like a soldering gun and spare parts, it may be impossible to do these repairs by yourself.Did I mention that they have some super cool antique rare computers on display?

I took my laptop in because it was making a strange screeching noise. They dropped everything to take care of me in the moment. Turns out, a small piece of plastic had gotten caught in the cooler. They cleaned it up, fixed it and didn't charge a cent. Excellent service.

DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS TO DO ANY REPAIRS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED!!!My experience with PC galore was an absolute nightmare and I would literally recommend anything else over this dump. Throwing your laptop of the Burrard St bridge would be just as helpful as bringing it here except you would save hundreds of dollars. Both Larry and Greg offer terrible customer service and always put their own profits above the customer experience. To summarize my experience. I hired them to replace the lcd screen of my touch screen laptop. I was told the replacement screen was 350$ to order from Lenovo and paid without question. Upon receiving the laptop back my stylus pen no longer worked. They offered me some self help" solutions over the phone before I finally insisted I would bring it back to the shop myself (not an easy journey for a busy university student living far away). When they took my laptop back to try and find a solution (basically just doing the stuff they told me to do) I found out from Larry that he had actually ordered a 200 dollar knock-off replacement screen from a Chinese company on Ebay.
