The food is always good and they keep the buffet topped up. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Bathroom is very clean and tidy.

Always have great service, and my choice of food was the buffet as this is what I like. They do have a menu as well.

Ordered 2 dinners for one(E) and the Cantonese chow mein Rice and dry ribs were okay. Ginger beer tasted of ketchup and bland. Chow mein was so oily and lacking vegetables. I had to add soya,sesame oil and chili paste to jazz it authentically. This is the 3rd time I have ordered, as I gave them the benefit of a different cook. $60 later. and third strike your out.

Very plentiful and freshly made buffet with Chinese and western food. Good flavours with authentic Chinese taste. Salad bar is stocked with very fresh vegetables and fruit, as well as quality desserts. Service was excellent and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend this restaurant.

EDIT: Just picking up Hats for dinner 2nite. Cannot wait.TRUE authentic food , friendliest employees.Don't worry they will understand your words on the phone.Was going to take pics of the food but honestly...it smelt too alluring.We got 3x almond chicken...one of Hats many masterpieces...Ginger beef - no, NOBODY ELSE MAKES BETTER GINGER BEEFBeef and broccoli - very good. The veggies are superb, beef is take it or leave it...Helpful hint:If you're looking for true flavor, order Hats own fried rice. You can taste the decades of mastery in their rice.The chicken, beef rices are normal almost lacking...avoid the chicken mushroom rice. It's weird. Mushrooms were under done. Not much else going for it.Go with the chefs best-Hat Special Fried rice, save beef or chicken for the kids..PREVIOUS POST:You wanna have the best food in town?Hat's.You wanna impress someone with food from Medicine Hat?Hat's.You want consistency?Like over 40 years of perfection-and after coming back to town and not trying Hat's for over 10 years, I'm pleased to say, they are as good. If not better.They can understand our Alberta drawl yet are authentic Chinese.Can you imagine being born Chinese and have to answer the phone at Hat's? They are aces at communication.Just finished with what they say to order if you are not sure...Dont get a Dinner for 'x' - order the dish and get it as it's meant to be. Big difference.The smorgasbord is still good too which is much cheaper. It is everyday till 8pm.Hat's is not cheap. But they are good and fast. See attached menu. Expect to spend $75 if ordering for 2-3.Pick it up and get %10 off.Best Chinese in town?Nah...Best RESTAURANT in town!
