Staff was friendly. We hired them to handle our HST for last year and they did so. This was our first year with them. At the end of the year once HST was filed and paid we returned to pick up all of our paperwork and receipts only to find that they lost them. At first we thought perhaps they were simply misplaced so we left and they said they would continue to look for them. We didn't hear back so we stopped in again later on and still no receipts. Fast forward several months and we receive a notice from Revenue Canada that they have a question about the HST filing and want to see the supporting paperwork/receipts. We stopped in at Diamond Tree this past week and were again told they can't find them. So our first experience with a bookkeeping/HST service has turned into us having to face Revenue Canada saying we can't show support for the HST filing because our accountants lost our receipts. Diamond Tree has offered the solution that we need to remember what receipts we brought in to them and go back to each store/vendor and ask for copies of all those receipts.

I needed assistance with the refiling of 3 years of tax returns to properly record and reduce the income tax payable on the proceeds of the sale of a business. Chris and Jayden were super helpful, explained everything clearly and the process was simple - I handed them the documents and they did the rest. The paperwork has been submitted to the CRA and I am looking forward to a big refund.

I sent my partner to Diamond Tree Accounting. He is not computer savy so I am writing this review on his behalf. He said the customer service was excellent. They were quick with his return, and were able to get his taxes returned with a direct payment to his bank account after months of him trying to update his address with the government, Diamond Tree was able to do this within a few days. He said they were very helpful and educated him on the process. They also helped him get his paper work sorted out It had been a couple of years without filing his taxes and at that point he was overwhelmed. They made sure he knew exactly what he needed. the Price was also fair and reasonable. Definitely recommend!

We’ve been with Diamond Tree for over 15 years. Chris & his staff are knowledgeable & friendly. I really couldn’t imagine using another accounting business.

At first everything was fine, but during the initial meeting they made a couple mistakes with our information we needed to correct for them. We were concerned but not yet turned away. However, despite their assurances that people rarely get audited, we ended up getting audited. Concerned, we took this to them, and they scrambled to help us deal with the audit. They submitted the information to the auditors and we almost lost a large portion of our income tax refund. At this point, we decided to handle it on our own, and managed to figure out for ourselves how to correct the issue. So in conclusion, they are okay, but I feel strongly that we would have been better off on our own.

Chris and his team have been doing our taxes for over 20 years. They are always accurate and Chris takes time to explain and answer any questions we have and provide tax planning advice. We will not trust anyone but Diamond Tree Accounting with our taxes.
