Dog & Groom

We took our 2 Standard Poodles to Dog & Groom for the first time and to say we were wowed would be an understatement. Joy spent a considerable amount of time pre appointment asking all the right questions while taking detailed notes. We will be back 100%.It's amazing how many people have stopped us during our walks to comment on how great the girls look!

My ShihTzu-Poodle Rosie has been going to Joy for over a year and always looks beautiful after her grooming appointments!Rosie comes home relaxed and happy. Joy takes such good care of her. I highly recommend!

Absolutely awful. Took my pup here for a regular groom. The place was really dirty and unkept. Owner / groomer barely looked at my pup and didn't establish any type of rapport. I should have left, but D&G was recommended, so I left her. Owner took my pup's leash and clipped it to a board. Again, no interaction. Not an hour later, she calls me and tells me to pick up my pup. She was not very well behaved and the grooming was not going to continue; she had peed in the salon and was not being cooperative. I went to pick her up and she was trembling and crying. I had to listen to a very long speech about how terrible she was and I should know better than to leave my dog with her and my pup had psychological problems. I had explained that my pup was not a good grooming subject as she has been injured during a groom (her second visit to one!). You'd think that a groomer would be able to handle this, or if not just say sorry if your dog had a traumatic experience, I won't be able to groom her. In any case, I was told to pay for a bath (she managed a bath!), pee clean up (??) and behaviour charge. I TOTALLY know my pup is not good in these situations and I well informed her of what to expect. She told me not to worry. I just don't think this woman is good with dogs, or even likes them. I find all these positive reviews completely bizarre!** post reply by owner comment** I have NOT home groomed my pup, so I am not sure where you are getting this information. There are many professionals out there that do this type of service. You should support others in the field, not be cynical. Yet another example of your unprofessionalism.

We’ve been customers of Joyce’s for 7 years! She is phenomenal! Joyce truly listens and hears you - our sweet pup always looks gorgeous and happy whenever we pick her up. Highly recommend!

Where do I even start? My partner and I have a 6 year old dog who is very difficult/challenging when it comes to grooms. There are a lot of behavioural issues we are still dealing with from adopting him and trying to learn from him but grooming is the number one challenge every few months. I have been turned away more times than I can count. Groomers were nervous around my dog and did not feel comfortable giving him a full groom. This time around, my partner and I got a call after dropping him off and she said that he was being challenging. After explaining my situation and desperation to learn how to care for our dog and his fear with being groomed, she offered to allow us into her shop and TEACH us how to groom him. We went in and stayed for a little over 2 hours. We fully groomed him and she taught us every step. I was so emotional and she did not even want to take my money!!! Of course we paid her the entire amount but all I can say is THANK YOU. Caring for a reactive dog is so incredibly challenging and this was a big step for us. I cannot recommend this groomer enough. She deserves far better reviews.

I have a rescue Chihuahua who hates being groomed and specifically doesn't like his paws being touched. I always take him here and she always does a good job with him. She never pinches him and although my dog can sometimes be a bit difficult, he doesn't put up a big fight with her. Her prices are also extremely reasonable. Make sure you tip extra.

My dog Ricky is a tough customer. Previous groomers would give up and leave her head and face untouched.Joy is extremely professional and patient. She offers BREED SPECIFIC cuts and is highly knowledgable - Ricky looks amazing.Also the dogs are not kept in crates or in confinement, which is a plus!

Joy does a great job with our cockapoo (Benji). Very good.

We took our Scottish Terrier here for her spring grooming, after letting her coat grow in over the winter. This dog looked feral..Joy asked us an in depth series of questions about exactly how we wanted our dog to look, and then proceeded to do exactly as we'd asked.The dog looks great, and was in the same mood when we picked her up as when we left her. Joy is some kind of dog whisperer, and knows all the secrets of how to get a pup to behave and enjoy itself during what is probably a pretty weird experience for the dog.10/10 work, we will be back. You should take your dog here.
