I attempted a TOLAC (Trial of Labour after Cesarean) for my second birth, and when complications presented during labour, my care was transferred to Dr. Frecker for a c-section. It was a redeeming, positive experience over my first labour and section. I highly recommend Dr. Frecker if you want someone who is positive, friendly, and respectful.

I have been waiting for a call back from Open Arms since June. I have tried calling on multiple attempts and never have had the phone picked up or my messages returned. I understand it's been a crazy year but this is ridiculous. Giving up and having my GP refer me to a clinic that actually cares to answer the phone and take appointments.

I’ve been a patient at the open arms practice for over 6 years. Dr. Ornstein is my go to ob/gyn and has delivered my two boys! . She is very thorough and cares about her patient. All staff members at this practice are super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this group of doctors to anyone looking for ob/gyn care.

I have just had my post-op consultation with Dr. Helena Frecker, as she had performed a hysteroscopy surgery on me back in April. I am so very thankful to have Dr. Frecker as my gynecologist! She is very knowledgeable, genuine, caring, and easy to talk with. She listens, and helps me to make the best decisions I can, for my health. Dr. Frecker has a great team around her, both in her Open Arms clinic, and at Michael Garron Hospital. I felt I had the best of both worlds.. a great Doctor, practicing at a great Hospital!

I have had the pleasure of being under the care of both Dr. Raymond and Dr. Ornstein. Dr. Raymond performed a small uterine surgery, and was so wonderful that I decided to see her for my first pregnancy. She is warm, attentive and caring, and always has time for your questions and concerns. We just loved her.With our second child, I had always wanted to try midwifery, but alas, I developed rare complications and my care had to be transferred in an emergency situation. I was very lucky that Dr. Ornstein was on shift that day. I ended up being in hospital for a full 3 weeks. She came in every morning, rain or shine, to see me. I received a bright good morning sweetie" and a warm touch

She has excellent bedside manor and has always made me feel supported and comfortable with my health care decisions and treatments. She is very thorough and always takes her time with me at all appointments, I’ve never felt rushed! All staff members at this practice are super friendly and helpful. I did my own research in looking for an OB in Toronto and I liked that Open Arms promotes how inclusive they are. The front staff are always kind and helpful and my Dr. Melanie Ornstein is amazing.

I have made multiple attempts to follow up on a referral my GP sent to this clinic towards the end of July. After 2 weeks with no call, I left a message to check if they received it and ask what the approximate wait for an appointment would be. Their voicemail says messages are returned within a specific time frame.About a week and a half later, I tried again, even asking if someone could just let me know if they were not currently booking appointments so I could ask my GP for a referral elsewhere. I've also tried calling at different times of the day and nobody ever answers the phone.As of September, I still have not received a call back.

Grateful to receive the service I need. They get the job done. However the comfort/welcome factor depends on who you’re dealing with. Dr. Frecker is nice, one of the receptionists is nice. I feel like the other two people I have spoken to are very “meh” and not warm, which is appreciated when I’m experiencing discomfort/uncertainty. I kind of dread calling the office, I find myself having to make a few attempts before getting ahold of someone.

My experience here was very very positive. The receptionist were very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Helena Frecker was very knowledgeable and thorough. I was very nervous about my surgery and she made me feel very comfortable. On the day of my operation, she was comforting and took my mind off of what was going to happen. Dr. Frecker, I know my surgery gave you a run for your money but thank you for your time, patience, dedication, and hard work. I am grateful to you for making me feel like an energetic person again. I am so so so happy that my family doctor recommended you. YOU ARE THE BEST! Continue to do an amazing job. You definitely got an A+ from me. Althea Brown
