Closing the Gap Healthcare

Caretakers from this healthcare company take care of my mom. Every one of them is courteous kind and attentive; they deserve 5 stars, Dealing withe the office however is another story; can never reach then, they don’t call back and totally uncooperative.

If you can avoid dealing with this company, please do. Totally unreliable. Cancel visits by PSW's at the last moment and despite being told to call me (the P of A for my aunt), they continue to call my aunt who has Alzheimer's to cancel the visit, which obviously is very confusing and upsetting to her. PSW's falsify records of when their visit was and talk about their client (my aunt) to the superintendent of the building, putting down my friend who I hired privately to care for my aunt in the process.

My mum called there to get help for my dad with dementia. Spoke to some Shannon woman who she said was very rude. I thought you are a company to assist our elderly who are so sweet and kind? Hmmm.. false advertising! She went to Bloom and they are takin good care of my parents who deserve the best

They keep harassing my elderly mother with calls saying they're coming when we've repeatedly told them we don't need their services. We don't know how they got her information as we've never asked for their help, nor contacted them. 2 weeks ago my mother got a message from a man saying he was coming to shower her. She's afraid as she lives alone. I met him in the lobby and explained to him that this was a mistake, we didn't need his services. Now she's been called again but no one answers the phone at this agency. This is beyond incompetence. It's harassment.

Last Sunday April 23rd the PSW who helps my wife did not take adequate care and made her fall. This has not happened with PSWs from other cos. The PSW then dragged her to her bed and tried to lift her. When she failed she hit my wife and then called for help to lift my wife. This was totaly unacceptable. I have tried to call both the Kitchener office and Guelph offices to complain but have got voicemail each time. Nobody BOTHERS to call back. Terrible service. I wish I could give negative star.

I can happily disagree with the negative reviews posted about Closing the Gap. We have worked with them for over a year and have NEVER had a missed appointment!. My Dad (86) loves the PSWs that have been assigned and considers them family. Sarah who schedules has been amazing!. Jim and Carolyn (PSWs) can't ask for better. So another view point. We are happy to recommend this company.

Half of the workers are lazy and incompetent, they lie about showing up when they don’t and leave mid visit when you politely ask them to not let your dogs out onto the road, some of these people have been incredibly rude to both me and my grandmother. If you have another choice I highly recommend going elsewhere

If I can give 0 stars I would, my father is in palliative care and my 72 year old mother is left most days without a phone call of nobody coming to help most days, when you call to complain all you get is a answering machine with zero call back. Nothing gets done but now I'm contacting my mpp and making absolutely sure this does not happen to any one else, I am sick and tired of the disrespect this company shows to elders who need care and the care coordinators who sit behind a desk and answer calls who ever they are get a. good talking to and maybe hopefully loses their job since none of them don’t know what a phone is and does absolutely nothing but collect a pay from the government.and let the elders suffer and fend for themselves.but the PSWs Every one of them is courteous kind and attentive; they deserve 5 stars, Dealing withe the office however is another story; can never reach then, they don’t call back and totally uncooperative.

This is the worst place to work. They have no respect for their workers. The scheduler(Jennifer Wigmore) always punish people when they complain about long distance to clients by removing clients from workers board and not giving them work for sometimes a whole week. This place need to be reported on how they treat workers and patients. People quit within months because of how toxic this workplace is. Shame on you guys. Everyone in that office need training on professionalism.

This firm keeps sending people over when we have asked them to stop. I have called a couple of times and left messages but no one calls back. We think they got my mothers information from public health, but are not sure, we have NEVER talked directly to this service.My mother is injured, living by herself, and they send men to her door, and it is freaking her out.
