I'm not really a big time audiophile, not a big player, and I'm not rich. I just like good sound. I encountered Noam and Stereo Untypical in that pursuit. After dealing with Noam for 1.5yrs I have come to appreciate and trust his experience and attentiveness. Noam is knowledgeable, honest, patient, unpretentious, never condescending and willing to spend time with his clients to help make their decisions. No bull___, integrity, surprisingly very competitive pricing for a smaller dealer, and genuine customer service...what a novel concept. Unfortunately this has not always been my experience in dealing audio shops/dealers. In a world where companies seem to increasingly prefer you talk to their phone services rather than their employees, its kinda nice to re-encounter some old-school service. Kinda untypical. Stereo Untypical certainly lives up to the name. Noam has been personable and attentive in a mostly transactional audio business world.When we were locked down and I wanted to upgrade an older system, Stereo Untypical was recommended to me by my brother who is a reader of the Wall of Sound audio blog.Noam went out of his way to help make that happen. If you are new to the audio hobby, or an old guy like me - Noam is the BEST resource to discuss your wants and needs. Noam has been very involved in all of my audio decisions over the past few years and has taken the time to not only recommend products (many that he did not even carry) but also, he took the time to educate me. I am currently working with Noam on a major Tube Amp upgrade and, possibly, some amazing new speakers.Noam is a true gentleman and an huge resource to the Audio scene in Canada.

Noam at Stereo Untypical is a delight to deal with. Think more of an audio consultant than an audio equipment store. Noam takes the time to listen, understand a client's true needs, follow their interests, and offer compelling alternatives and recommendations for the client's use case and budget.I've worked with Noam for a number, working on fine tuning my system (I am admittedly a lifelong perfectionist audio geek, you know, the ones attracted by the inconvenience and expense of our hobby) around a rare pair of Xavian speakers that Noam imports from the Czech Republic. We tried several pairs until we found the sweet spot, and boy do they sing. Our process was marked by a fair bit of talking, listening, and a few good laughs in the process. It's a delight to meet an audio dealer who takes the long view of client relationships, is a passionate problem solver, and will work with you to get it right.
