This review is not so much as to the store but to one fine dazzling gentlemen. His name is Derek. Derek is easily the best damn employee in the entire mall complex. This man goes above and beyond to make sure anyone who wanders his way feels at home and well taken care of. If higher ups see this please acknowledge you lucky you are to have such an outstanding citizen in your ranks. I wish you all the best my man. Thanks for being such an amazing person!

A good range of products. Lots of staff but unfortunately most of them were just standing around. When I worked in retail you couldn't do that.

Worst customer service, first they close before the closing time and then force customers to not walk through exits which are closer to the parking!!You would want a customer to walk for 15’mins in the Sun to get to their car just because you’re lazy to open the door?Seriously!!

Got Christmas presents from my wife. She bought them a few weeks before Christmas. They didn't fit. I don't live in nanaimo, so it was a few weeks before we could come in and return. Tags all still on, never worn. Still had original receipt and gift receipt. Flat no from the manager. . More than 30 days after purchase.Never shopping there again. Not like I went there much before.

Overall I think of the Hudson Bay as a Walmart with more choices when entering the store all I saw was a few employees standing around talking and kinda just ignoring people we went upstairs to find bedding and could not find anyone to help us find anything we found what we needed and went back down stairs to pay but could not find anyone until we caught an employee walking past the service desk

Purchased 4 Kode Kamp recliners and picked them up on Thurs Apr 6. Went down to the bsmt to assemble them on Saturday and discovered that 1 of them had a bent 5 arm pedestal. Contacted the service dept, but was later informed on Apr 15 that only service requests made within 24 hours are within their policy. very poor warranty.

Returned a clothing item, not because I didn't want it but because there was horrific 'off gas' coming from it that hadn't lessened in the 3 days since I bought it. Sales person wasn't the least bit interested in the issue or my dissatisfaction. No, it wasn't busy. I was the only one at the counter and was the last time I'll be at the counter.

Absolutely avoid this pathetic excuse for a major department store unless you can handle a massive amount of abuse, indifference & incompetence. The Bay will gladly offend your sensitivities to the max. Just a brutal shopping experience! .......Ghastly reviews are here for a reason. TRUST ME!

Not sure why they're still in business, big store, no staff, selection bad designer only at high pricing. Don't need to go again for another 5 years.
