Great Club! A very diverse, well organized and pleasantly social club. Awarded most sportsman like club many times in past and is always fun, no matter how you like your Cricket (hit it straight along the ground or reverse sweep it for a six :)

Love to travel? If so, this is the club for you.Yes, it is the most diverse club in the city with over 13 nationalities coming together to play a sport and yes, they win silverware (sportsmanship is an award, too!) and yes, they are sociable and have off field events to go to and participate in things like quiz nights, and golf days, and cricket tours, and massive tournaments of a South African game called Fives Alive that you've probably never heard of and, in all honesty, it's probably better that way, and pub nights, and darts nights, and family bowling days and whatnot. And that's great, it really is. But this club is like Paris.Sure, you might not like Paris or the French, and that's ok, because there's lots of other British expats at the club that you can commiserate with, but bear with me. People go to Paris and they say they've seen the sights and 'experienced it' and what they mean is that they went to the Eiffel Tower and maybe made it to the observation decks, and that they stood in line for an hour or two at the Louvre and got to see the Mona Lisa from 30 metres away over the heads and selfie sticks poking out everywhere, and they crossed the river to see the Musee d'Orsay. Maybe they went to Notre Dame and if they're really insuffrable they'll tell you how great it was before the belfry fire. They'll have gone to Montmarte and see the pretentious artistes at Place de Tertre. And that's a lot like Cricket in Calgary. People say they play for a club and they do. They show up at 11:30 for the 12:00 game and they leave right after. They go through the motions and the play the sport much like checking off the list of sights. They try to accumulate the accolades for themselves and then the weekend is over and they go back to whatever it is they do.This club, however, is different. This is that one cafe in the latin quarter. Not the overpriced Sartre one, but the one that can fit in a closet and costs half as much. And the barista is actually nice and not brushing you off to get to the next tourist. This is the crepe shop on Rue Mouffetard that you try to tell your friends later but it never comes across as just right-more of a 'you have to try this if you go there'. This is the great food market in the street as well. Something not just for passers by but also for those who live here. The one where everyone knows the grocer's name and his dedication to his craft. This is Place de la revolution and the normality of it; the everyday-ness that people don't have while travelling. Glenmore is the Rue Mouffetard of CDCL in comparisons to Rue de Rivoli. Everyone experiences Rivoli's. Not everyone gets to the Mouffetards.This club is family for many who have moved here or are just passing through. It's got a fantastic social aspect to it and play in a great spirit of the game with great friendships forming because of it. There are 4 different levels that one can play with depending on skill from 50 overs to a social weeknight league that's similar to a beer league hockey team where we play to win but also have fun playing. They are inclusive and it doesn't matter if it's your first time playing or a grizzled ol' vet hobbling along like a Chally, if you can stand, you can play! If you have a sense of camaraderie, a desire to play can take the piss out of yourself, and enjoy some fine company, this is your club. Vive les Taverners

Glenmore Cricket Club is the best cricket club in town! They have a fantastic, diverse, friendly membership. Offers cricket to players of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Play the game in the right spirit. Run a thriving junior cricket program. Lots of fun social events. Recommend it to anyone interested in playing cricket in Calgary.

Friendly, well organised club with a great group of people. Family friendly and sociable events make everyone feel welcome. Has to be one of if not THE best cricket club in Calgary, possibly Alberta. Winning is important but making all members feel welcome and involved is just as equal so we all get maximum enjoyment from the sport we love!

An Australian who first arrived in Calgary in 2012 I can't recommend the Glenmore Cricket Club highly enough. I've been a member since I first arrived it's the social and diverse cricket club in the city, lots of fun events and intra club games throughout the year.

Best run cricket club in Calgary! Loved playing my first season with them. Very supportive and family oriented.
