I went here for the first time last night, for the Socialist Action Social event. The music and poetry were superb. Staff was friendly, well organized and helpful. I ordered the apple crumble pie and it was fantastic; made just the way my grandma used to make apple brown betty. I'll be coming back!

Place is clearly suffering since the pandemic. The once great Sunday buffet is mediocre and if you go for the second sitting you get leftovers. Music was fun but we were bullied to tip. Shouldn't the restaurant pay the museums? Don't shove the tip jar in my face. Wait staff were great. Almost too good. They tried to take my friend's plate twice while she was still eating. Love their takeout holiday meals Passover and Rosh Hashana good value and great food but I won't be back for brunch. And really $4.95 for a diet coke?

Was my first time here last night at a poetry reading event organized by Art Bar. The poetry was awesome. I ordered a burger, fries on the side and a tall boy of beer. Food is overpriced... The burger was good, the portion of fries for $4 was a disappointment - I could count 12 small cubish home cut fries which were overdone. Their Happy Hour is a lie... when I asked for the happy hour prices on my beer, I was told that it doesn't apply to the back room... doesn't make sense to me as the rest of the menu prices are consistent front or back. Will I go back? Maybe for the beef burger... it was decent.I was also overcharged, please check your bill when paying... I usually do, this was one of those exceptions as I was in a bit of a hurry.

Deceived and frustrated.Attended “Free Trivia Night”, ordered the 6 Latkes ($16.85) for the table (2 adults and a child). When we declined to participate in the raffle, the owner informs us there’s a $6 minimum per person, and ordering family meals doesn’t count so we better order something else, then sends the server over to take our orders a second time. This $6 per person was not advertised and they didn’t do anything to inform attendees.Reluctantly we ordered tea as the rest of the menu was overpriced and they don’t offer a diversity of pricing. When we got the bill it still charges us a $6 per person plus the tea. $36.95 (tax included) for 6 latkes and tea, is outrageous. As a patron to a restaurant, you shouldn’t be bullied by the owner to spend more money if you don’t want to. If you want to charge $6 per person to attend an event you need to inform people them prior to the event, not rudely guilt them half way through the event.

Been here several times. Today I was in line at Bruger King and recalled that Free Times have burgers and real coffee. So i strolled down the street to Free Times. In previous visits i usually have their chicken sishtawok or falafels. This was the first time I've had their burger. It was very good. Much better than Burger King.

The best brisket on College/Kensington! And love that you can make a latke brisket sandwich when you order the brisket platter. For patio fans, the College St patio is a rarity and the service, as always, was top notch.

Came here for the magic and comedy show, and it was amazing! The show was at the back of the restaurant, and it's a rather intimate setting (be prepared to share a table). Nevertheless, both food and beers were reasonably priced and delicious.

Absolutely excellent! I brought 4 people. I was late for our reservation but they accommodated and everything was amazing quality! You won't be disappointed! Just be sure you're ready to pay the bill ;)

Good entertainment for the night there was live music and also performers who were singing karaoke. There is a $10 entrance fee or it’s pay what you can and also there’s a minimum spending of six dollars for whatever drink is on the menu.My friends and I had a good time. We loved the performers for the songs that they chose to sing. I would recommend if you just wanna have a good time listening to people sing, or play the guitar or piano.
