Montessaurus Puppy School

Hazel and Katie are fantastic. Courses range from a first time trainer with a new puppy to advanced courses as well as specialty courses. They provide the detailed tips needed to make your training experience successful. We have been going for 5 years and enjoy taking in a course or two each year.

So thrilled with our experience with Katie and Hazel at Montessaurus. They're very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a puppy class and beyond. We're looking forward to attending more classes again in the new year.

Katie is absolutely amazing. Classes were fun for all of us and we learned SO much. I can’t say enough good things about this puppy school and we will definitely be going back for the next level of classes.

Katie and Hazel are lovely. I took my youngest of my bearded collies there for kinderpuppy and some other classes. She has the best recall out of all my dogs and is now on to showing. I love their positive reinforcement training style!

Great place to get your puppy trained! We ended up doing kinder puppy but have now signed up for level 1 because of how well it worked. We get comments often about how well our 5 month old puppy is behaved.

Classes were good enough, but midway through there is a guarding lesson. Our puppy growled when they tried to take her treat, not aggressively at all, and after that they treated our dog poorly and called her names to our face and wouldn’t let her play with the other dogs. It was very frustrating and sad. Our dog is not aggressive AT ALL.

Katie was great for grade 1 training. The instruction was easy to follow and my dog really loved Katie. Would definitely recommend, we are going back for a different class.

This is the most incredible puppy school! My dog Scout recently completed their Kinderpuppy class and I’m so glad we did! The instructor, Hazel was incredibly knowledgeable and great with the dogs. I was skeptical at first about the class being 90 minutes, as it seemed like a long time to keep the puppies’ attention, but I was quickly proven wrong :) Their philosophy is that puppies learn best through play and fun, so they have tons of playtime interspersed with training. The puppies were able to play and chase each other off leash to help with their socialization and build their confidence for short periods during each class. In between, they’d learn new skills (sit, down, stay, come, leave-it, etc) using positive reinforcement methods. It was incredible to see how each of the puppies built their confidence throughout the 6-week course, and also how many new skills they learned. Scout was so excited to arrive each week, and left tired and happy. Hazel also gave us tips and tricks to manage behaviours specific to our own dogs, and really made an effort to ensure we covered everything the group had questions about. I’d strongly recommend Montessaurus to all puppy owners!
