DermEffects: Dr. Wei Jing Loo

If there ever was an example of medical professionals hosing OHIP, this is it. I paid to have something removed to avoid the option of multiple return visits. Had a follow up a month later and the nurse (who had to scrape my foot on her knees with my foot resting on an office chair till I offered to adjust so she could sit on a bench) indicated all was well and they got it. Doctor sprays again however, and I ask if that's it and she said oh no, it takes multiple treatments. Did not comment on its condition or anything, did not say when I should return, didn't really say anything. TERRIBLE communication. Will not be returning.

I have been a patient in this clinic for almost 2 years now. Dr. Loo sent away the mole for biopsy that came back as nodular cancer, and is diligent about regular follow up for a full body exam to determine if there are any new areas of concern. She has also said that any time I have a problem with something on my skin, I should call and they will see me asap. I have done that just once...and I got an appointment within 36 hours. I appreciate the care and concern.

I recently went through a psoriasis trial with Dr Loo and Lin . I would like to say the treatment was excellent and very personal. Dr Loo went above and beyond contacting me on the weekend when needed and helping me feel my best. Thank you

I am very grateful to have connected with Dr Loo and Lin at DermEffects for a psoriasis drug study and then for treatment! My experience during the drug study was always positive. The office staff and research team are very efficient, friendly and supportive despite it obviously being a very busy practice. Dr. Loo has restored my faith in dermatologists! I had been suffering for over a year and tried many treatments. I am back to my pre-condition skin and am so grateful for her knowledge and care she took to ensure I received a good result! Worst experience I've had with a doctor.Waited around 6-8 month for an appointment. Then got there on time. Sat in a room for 45 min, only seeing the doctor for a total of maybe 10min (max).I had to have a cyst removed. She said if I wanted to do the procedure today or book another appointment in the future. I said let's do it today. She verbally quoted me $125. I agreed and the procedure took 5 min.I get the bill. IT SAYS $225 . I tell the receptionist that she quoted me $125. She says no it's $225 on the paper.Terrible communication and service. Believe the reviews that are similar to mine because by the looks of it, the good reviews from th place are due to some sort of free trial that patients underwent to boost the rating of this business.

I was part of a clinical trial for a Vitiligo drug for a year. I had regular in-person visits. I was taken care off by a great research team (Lin, Tina and Dr Loo). I appreciate them arranging home visits at short notice when my son was ill at times. It was really difficult to find my veins for the regular blood work but Tina was great at making this a painless and comfortable process. They were always punctual when I arrived for my appointments. They were thorough and professional. The bonus is that more than 95% of the vitiligo had cleared in the last year. I will absolutely continue to visit Dermeffects and do recommend them if you have not already visited this place.

I was really impressed by the service from Cindy... She is an extremely patient listener and a wise advisor... In my 10 years of experience in the healthcare system.... She has been... by far the most amazing person I have met. Thank you for addressing all the issues and guiding me in the best way... Kudos to Cindy!!!

A visit to Dr Loo,s office is a pleasant experience. Staff is pleasant, you are always treated with respect and when you leave you know you have been well looked after, all your questions answered and all your needs meet. You are in good hands

Were not informed about it costing money, so we get there and get sucked into either pay or get out. We were upset and they just pushed the blame onto the family doctor. Who by the way didn't even know about the appointment other than to have sent the referral. We asked for details twice over phone anything we need to know. Nothing was mentioned because they just want you to pay. Expect you will just because you are there
