Today I was asked why, being an anglophone, I chose Desjardins, a mostly francophone bank, as my bank. Here's a good example of the reason. This was the first time in two years of having an account at Desjardins that I actually needed to go to my branch. The experience couldn't have been better. I was helped by Alexandre Deschenes who is the kindest, most helpful person I have ever delt with at a bank. Thank you very much for your attention and understanding my needs, Alexandre. I wish you all the success you deserve in your career.

I really hate writing bad reviews, but Deajardins bank is not worth your time. They are inefficient in how they handle money and do not understand the basics of banking/ customer service. I’d give them 0 starts if possible.1) change of personnel all the time. No consistency in dealing with a specialist ie. I had 10 different Mortgage specialists in a span of 5 years.2) I closed a mortgage. Which means a closed an account and they continued to pull money from it?! I have no idea where my money went!3) So few people speak English. To speak to someone in English you need to be passed along to a variety of people.

Les consultants hypothèquaire sont incompétents J'AI JAMAIS VU CA NUL PART UN LANGUAGE COMME CA, J'AVAIS L'IMPRESSION DE PARLER A UN GANG DE RUE AU TÉLÉPHONE.... quand tu na pas la voix pour chanter tu chante pas la meme chose pour un agent, tu na pas le ton et bien dégage de la....Tres decu , lundi je contacte desjardins pour renouveler mon hypotheque, le gars me répond qu'il est occupé et va me contacter vendredi, mais le hic de lundi a vendredi le taux a augmenté, leur service son égale a de l'incompétence, surtout les gens au téléphone, langage médiocre, parle mal francais, ya pas l'air de pousser pour toi, mais plus pour la caisse.

About to close my account after being a loyal client for over 10 years, due to bad customer service. Advisors can change on a regular basis, but this new one (katherin by her name) booked a meeting which I accepted and changed requirements to my account. She said that she would send me an email about the new requirements. After 3 weeks, my file was sent to the recovery team (received through the mail), after never receiving that said email, and without a call. I will gladly stop paying interest to them and go to another bank with better customer service.

Desjardins! Currently my bank as i write this, sadly this service center is pretty badly rated which i think don't deserve it, the staff is actually really nice and helpful, and take the time to explain to you stuff you don't understand if you ask! Very nice atm too!This should be rated better, people should complaint about the enterprise instead which can be misleading/confusing sometimes, but besides that, this service center is actually really nice!
