PAARC Peel Addiction Assessment and Referral Centre

This program is designed to fail a person in addiction or any stage of recovery, calls to intake, messages left, phone intake then two weeks later in person 30 minutes to get into a group two weeks later, over 45 days and a trip to Dixie Rd just to sign up. Anyone in recovery knows the fragility of recovery, the taxing effort it takes to keep track of appointments. Went to an OHIP funded 45 day residential treatment program with less hassle. I’m sure they don’t really care, PAARC gets their money, the addict gives up and the cycle perpetuates failure.

After almost a decade within PAARC as a client, I have always been treated with respect and can't think of anything negative to say about these people and the programs/overall help they have to offer. Have always been more than impressed by all the support each staff member, whether personal worker or otherwise, has extended.

This place is amazing. All the people who work there are legit qualified professionals; all the counselors, social workers, and etcetera. If you or anyone you know of needs the help these great people provide, please go see them. Their programs are great and the help is real.

If you need help with your addiction then this is the place to go. Amazing supportive staff. Ive learned so much!

This place relies on funding and addiction is not politically popular due to the idea of self responsibility. But addiction becomes a vehicle of survival until it does not work anymore. Please be patient. Be kind to them and understand they have limit funding. This place have helped me so much.

I certainly appreciate the help I received and very grateful it’s a free service, however in my experience, I’ve found the Counsellors too young and often very inexperienced in dealing with some of the trauma and other issues I need true help with. Great place for resources and referrals, but don’t expect any deep psychotherapy type of counselling services here.

Staff is amazing!!! and it’s a safe and healthy place for the community, and should be funded more to help people, people work at the 5170 dixie is loving caring and understanding genuine people! Long live you all♥️
