My 4 year old son and I spent 3 hours here today. Between the rail yard, the house, and the old fire station, we had a great time! I've lived near Capreol my entire 33 years of existence and this was my first time going. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for the great time. The staff was wonderful!

Great spot for an afternoon visit. I'd suspect it should take about 2 hours to normally go through the trains, house and historic police / fire station. Some train cars and locomotives you can go I side of which was neat. Kids loved the play structure.

Nice Expo... Both the Train and the Fire Station, one of the guide escort me to the Fire Station, a few block a way. It was fun to look at the old Train and wagon & the Fire Station...The Staff is tip base so if you go there, well don't be cheap, they do a good job.

Amazing spot, very cool old trains with lots of history. Felt like a time warp, landscaping looks incredible and the staff are really friendly. Highly recommend

Nothing special unless your really into trains but capreaol is a beautiful place to visit. Its very small but the people are relatively nice and the nature is a sight to see.

Loved it! Spectacular model train set in the basement. Spend a couple hours, nice town, too.

The house and grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. Pets are allowed outside and there is a play area for the kids. The large model train layout is in the old fire hall a block or so away, and is well worth a look.

Amazing museum! The cottage is quaint and full of fabulous antiques. The rail artifacts, engines and box cars are in great shape and displayed in a beautiful outdoor setting. Allowing visitors to tour inside the boxcars and cottages you can feel a sense of the railroads’ historical legacy to northern Ontario and area. We received a personal tour from Frances and Eileen who are also very involved and active in the continued restoration and historical design set up of the box cars, cottages, gardens and museum overall. Joanne was our personal guide through the fire hall museum that housed an incredibly extraordinary model train exhibit. The “old” jail cell was quite interesting and a little spooky as well. This is a great place with lots to see and do for both children and adults. The staff are charming and their knowledge of the railroad and its story is entertaining and amazing. A definite place to visit if you are in the Sudbury vicinity.

A northern gem, the Railroad Museum is fun for families and interesting for all ages. The gardens are gorgeous, the playground is fun, and the trains are set up nicely with historic dioramas, plus a fun engine for kids to explore hands-on. Mine loved ringing the bells outside and watching the miniature train. There is a good picnic area and a dining room inside with desserts for sale. The museum exhibits in the house were well done, we didn't take the guided tour but still enjoyed reading about the equipment and area history. The fire station is great too, make sure to ask the attendant for a tour.

A tour with the time. So much history to learn. And there are people who have the time to sit with you and tell a story
