El Caballo

We had the best dinner here in our five-night stay in the region. We suggest calling ahead for reservations as it closes early and gets packed near closing.The menu is limited, but it is an interesting combination of German and Mexican specialties.

Definitely a five star restaurant. The steak was just perfect and very good selection of beer. It is not only Mexican food, you get also a good selection of burgers, pastas, and German meals. The setting is very nice and service is what you expect in a fancy lounge.

We have eaten hear a few times now. Always have the Mexican food which is pretty standard - lots of beans, cheese and salsa. Not a lot to choose from on menu. I always get the chicken burrito which fixes my Mexican food cravings. It's a little over priced. The interior is clean, but dated.

Excellent food. The Mexican food was amazing. The tortilla chips and pico de Gallo are made in house and are authentic. The portions were generous. The owners are very conscientious and were diligent about ensuring we were happy with our meal. She even came out because I asked about their pico de gallo and wanted to see what kind I was accustomed to. The server was friendly and conscientious.My Hubby has the schnitzel. It was tender and the coating was light and crispy. He said it was the best he has had.This is my new favourite restaurant inn100 Mike. I highly recommend it.

Very interesting combination, Germany really meets Mexico at this restaurant. Found this place while staying at the Ramada in town. Went with some family members and ordered a mix of Mexican dishes and German dishes between the four of us. I found the schnitzel to be really good, the mushroom sauce was great, we also ordered the prawn tacos arguably some of the best prawn tacos I have ever tried, highly recommend that you order them if your here. Really good selection of German beers on tap. Prices aren't terrible, not the cheapest place in town but at the same time not the most expensive. If your in the area for dinner I highly recommend you stop here.

We came here for a birthday and had a great meal at a good price. I am Celiac and was able to happily eat their homemade nachos with the salsa and sour cream. The others enjoyed their meals. Will be back.

The owner was lovely, we had no trouble getting a table on a Saturday night.Unfortunately, the prices were higher than expected and portions were on the small side. $14.95 nachos were incredibly small and inconsistent in the meat and cheese portions, and were over cooked.Their pop carbonation was almost flat and when we mentioned it they said it had been mentioned before... and left it at that!Overall disappointing meal, especially for the prices being charged.

El Caballo was recommended to me awhile back. I'm very happy we stopped in today. The chicken enchiladas were very authentic and extremely delicious! I am looking forward to coming back and trying more delicious offerings from the menu. Thank you for the excellent service. Cheers and well done. A gem of a find!

We see this place every time we drive through 100 mile but they are only open from 5pm to 9pm. So we happened to be passing at 5 pm last night and stopped in. We were greeted by a really nice young woman who promptly took our drink order. The restaurant started to fill up quite fast. The menu is very unique they have German and Mexican food options. We ordered the chicken taquitos, Mexican wings, carnitas and the Wiener schnitzel. We were not disappointed everything was excellent. But I have to say the highlight of the meal was the chicken taquitos. As we were leaving we were chatting with our waitress, her Mum (she is German) and her Dad (the Mexican) both work there and the combination is great! It is a nice family restaurant with excellent food and excellent prices. If you ever get a chance you must stop and eat there! Will definitely be back! Thank you!
