Channing Restaurant

Went to sauble beach today.. I found the Channing restaurant by googling Chinese restaurants. It was located right at the beach front where all the other restaurants are. It had a side window to order take out we couldn't eat on the patio unless you were ordering alcohol , which i was very disappointed especially after spending $40plus. We had to eat in the car instead of being able to eat properly and watch the sunset. Travelled three hours to visit this area. The food was ok not great and not bad. It was very basic. The fried rice had the taste but was just plain no veggies no nothing just rice with soy sauce. The chow mein mostly bean sprouts with a few slivers of carrots, chicken balls as usual.. Plain with just the sweet sauce, seasme chicken plain with little Sweetness and seeds. I would suggest the restaurant to add a little more ingredients to better the food and price quality. I would recommend this restaurant if your looking for Chinese food and ok with just basic food and not looking for nothing more.

I used to work here way back in the day when they first opened. Since eating here, I have (still) not been able to find Chinese food that is as good. My personal favourites are the Lemon Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Honey Garlic Wontons, Tofu with Black Bean Sauce and Vegetable Lo Mein.Their food is made in house, their sauces are amazing, and the food isn't super greasy.Just be warned that during the summer season they are EXTREMELY busy for both order in and take out, especially long weekends. And they are unfortunately not open in the winter.I try and order every time I am up North" during the summer."

Omg I have waited since the summer before the pandemic to get Channings again and I could NOT be happier, more satisfied or more full, for that matter! Thank the Sauble Beach heavens that Channings is back!!!! Love, love, love it!!! It's a staple every summer!

I craved for Asian food while I was visiting Sauble Beach. I came across this restaurant from searching on Google. I ordered from this restaurant two times and in both occasions, the food was extremely salty. I thought my husband was exaggerating when he said the beef and broccoli stir fry was salty but nope, he was right. Next day, I ordered beef and mushroom and wanton soup because hey why not give them another chance. The food again was salty. Could not finish both of them even though I was hungry. Friendly crew but way too salty food!!!

We had Channings for the first time in Sauble tonight, and wow. It was so, so good! We love the new take out window! Welcome back to Sauble Channings!

They just re-opened for the season (May 19,2018) and we had to have it! Was delicious as always! Hot, fresh, not over oily or over seasoned. Not too much batter on the chicken balls. And the sweet and sour sauce was not sickly sweet, it was perfect. Yum!

Bad experience today, the sesame chicken combo was terrible, the chicken was dry and only 4 small pieces of chicken. My veggie combo was not appealing and the mushrooms looked horrible. Complained to the owner and he didn't seem to care. He said it's cooked in Owen Sound and brought out to the beach so obviously it's reheated. We will patronize China 8 in Port Elgin as their food is fresh and delicious!

Ordered take out from Sauble location. Service was fast, food was hot and tasted great. Will definitely order from here again.

Very tasty food, reasonable prices and you can eat on the deck facing the beach at sunset! Great place to eat at the beach.
