Steelhead Provincial Park
Money well spent! Where can you spend a night for 23 bucks and have included 24hr showers and bathrooms ( very roomy, clean and new paint), have a waterfront location (albeit windy), no distractions from a city but still have internet, great view of the sky, place to fish from the beach plus there's water and electric hook ups!! Firewood and ice for sale!

Beautiful views. The lake was cold but the dog didn't mind!

We stopped here early in May to camp overnight; our expectations were exceeded. The campground itself is small, the beach is close and convenient. The facilities are a little dated but very (very very!) clean and well-maintain.The resident manager is friendly and obviously very proud of her campground. We could hear the trains but, after having just spent a night in Golden, they were not loud enough to bother us at all.Steelhead will certainly become a preferred stop for us on the road to the coast.

This is a hidden gem. The manager a lady is one of the most kind, nice and wonderful people. The facility is always spot on. You bring the province pride. Thanks for making our stays so enjoyable every time, never disappointed.

Lovely manager and some great lush day use areas. You can camp, but it is not possible to sleep owing to the almost constant noise from the trains (train whistles every hour and a half all through the night). Would be an awesome zone for the deaf or hard of hearing. Stick to the spots near the entrance unless you enjoy resting on tiny cacti.

Nice in the shoulder season but too busy for me on long weekends. Beautiful location but has a lot of train noise.

This is an awesome place. Sadly we are only here for 2 days but we will definitely be back. Very clean sites and washrooms

Stopped at this park to check it out and have a snack. Nice spot on the lake...wouldn't necessarily pick it as a camping destination but it's always nice to hear the water hit the rocks!

Steelhead Provincial Park
BC Parks describes this park as “convenient overnight camping”. On the plus side this park is close to Hwy 1 and is easy to find. The park is clean, and the staff is friendly. 10 sites offer power and water hookups Most sites offer a view of Kamloops lake. On the negative side the park looks like a gravel parking lot with picnic tables. The lake empties into a fast-moving river that is not safe for swimming or canoeing. There are no trails, no boat launch or other recreation. The shower house is old. The weather can be very hot and dry in summer months. The campsites are small with no privacy and no shade.
