Where to start? Alair Homes Aurora & Newmarket was the best construction management experience we could have imaged. We were looking to do a significant renovation (~3,000 sq feet) with a large addition (~1,000 sq feet) to our home. Not knowing what to expect, Alair made the process easy.From the first interaction, we felt a sense of connection with Alair. They were punctual, addressed our immediate and long-term concerns, answered all our questions, gave us points for consideration, and walked us through their end-to-end process.Alair's authenticity (if you could say that about a business!); along with their customer centric approach and open-door policy, had us feeling not only secure in our decision to work with them, but excited. We went into our project with our eyes wide open - the outline in front of us was detailed, well thought out, and upfront. What we loved about Alair's approach was that nothing was hidden - all fees, expenses, anticipated trade amounts, and actual trades amounts were all outlined throughout the process. In addition to that, we (as the customer) were able to make the final decisions on which trades we wanted to work with, or what options we wanted to go with.Now, with all custom builds, especially renovations, problems do arise. Sometimes hard decisions needed to be made on the project, or snags came up with a specific trade, wishlist, or timeline. Let there be no sugar coating into how stressful a process renovating or building a custom is, because it is extremely stressful. What made Alair so special was their ability to take a stressful event and to break it down into something consumable – Whether it be providing options, thinking outside the box, or proactively having a solution to a problem, they were always in our corner.From a project management perspective, all the trades were respectful, competitive in price and respected our deadline. Alair did an impeccable job at steering the ship and we cannot commend them enough on their ability to manage the project. We could go on forever about how positive our experience was with Alair. We worked with Alair Aurora/Newmarket on a complete home renovation on an older home in 2021/2022. Two major things we were looking for in a renovation company were for us to be able to have control over everything we chose for the house and that they prioritized customer satisfaction. Alair checked both of these boxes and we couldn’t have been happier with the result!We completely remodelled two floors of the house, including a full kitchen reno (taking down a wall), two bathrooms as well as flooring and all the finishes. We installed a gas line for the stove and we’re able to vent the stove outside.The companies Alair worked with for finishes were just as great. We worked with a great flooring company (who were able to customize the stairs exactly as I liked) and a wonderful kitchen company who was able to put my dream kitchen into place. Having Alair with us to coordinate all of these different vendors on a timeline that worked for us was exactly what we needed.Jason and David were great to work with! We had two project managers throughout the process. Both were very thorough in their communication and updates of the project. I loved that I had a weekly update on the project.A couple of things have popped up since the project ended and Alair was prompt in having someone come to fix it.Overall an enjoyable experience!

We hired Alair Aurora/Newmarket to do a very complex renovation / addition to our home. Alair has been up to the challenge every step of the way. They have been easy to work with throughout the whole process. Jason and our project manager Ben are very responsive. As with any renovation, there were bumps along the way, but Alair always found a way to fix issues to our satisfaction. We are happy with their trades and the workmanship thus far. We would highly recommend using them as your builder!

Oh my gosh....where to begin. Just over a year ago we hired Alair Homes, Aurora to build our custom home. Our project was a big one and lots of detail so we knew we wanted a company we felt could meet our expectations. Alair nailed it! From the day we met with Jason and David we knew they were a good fit for us. We had interviewed other builders but were impressed with Altair’s transparency. We always knew what the bids were from subs, budget meetings every week, open communication and awesome project managers. I was very involved in the whole presses, from framing to finish I worked closely with our PM and Alair was very good with me and my sometimes crazy ideas! I have to say building our dream home during COVID wasn’t always the easiest and sometimes frustrating as you can imagine. But 100% support from them was so helpful. For most our our project Andrew was our PM and he did such an awesome job. He was a good fit for me to work with. Very detailed, great note taker, and always clam. He made sure to have the trades we hired there on time and finished on time. Ben has been supper helpful as well filling in when needed. As big of a project as it was and dealing with this crazy year of COVID it went pretty seamlessly. We have been in our new home now for a few months and everyday I look around and love everything about this house! Great job Alair! We have referred them to several people now. They really are the best to build or Reno with. Thanks guys!

We are very confident in having picked Alair Homes as our contractor for building our custom home. The Alair team was the only contractor we spoke with that started the contract with a design estimate service. This service provided detailed costs for each step of building our home. The Estimate service provides simple budgeting and constant communication which made our build without surprises and financially consistant making us secure knowing our dream home was a reality.We specifically are appreciative of the support and professionalism of our project manager Jason Barnes. The proof of his expertise and care was when we completed the build in the agreed upon timeframe! We were never left unaware of how trades were progressing and when needed Jason stepped in to finish a project to make sure our home was done according to plan. The finished project was on budget matching the Design estimate at the start and most importantly solid and beautifully done, we are left with no regrets in our decision to trust our home to Alair.

I worked with Alair to demo and build a detached garage. Because my house is older, there were bylaw issues and a minor variance was needed to get a larger garage. A minor variance + COVID delays could have made for a painful process, but Alair made it a smooth and enjoyable process. Not only did I have a beautiful outcome, but the process was easy and stress free for me. Alair took care of absolutely everything - including the minor variance process. We are so thrilled with the garage and have had multiple neighbours compliment their work. Thank you to Alex & Jason in particular for being the true dream team!

I had Alair do a large renovation 5 years ago. They were so professional to work with. Still loving everything they did. Five years later, when I went to clean the inside of the gas fireplace, I realized I could not open it up. After lots of research from Jason, we came to conclusion that the tile around the fireplace was too thick. Alair came back in after the warranty period was up and replaced the tile. Can’t thank them enough. Such a professional company to deal with!

Completed office renovation #2 with Alair. Two years after the first project, we moved to a larger space. The project was twice the size and the team did an excellent job working through several unknown issues along the way to keep us on schedule and budget. Highly Recommend, Thanks!
