Ditto for the other low rating on Kirby Hayes. She is only interested in racking up fees, and she is definitely NOT interested in representing the best interests of her client(s). She lied to me in our first meeting (!). Further she advocates strategies that are impractical and, upon checking with other lawyers, undoable. I wonder, did she really graduate from law school? A real shyster. Kirby is useless and immoral.This firm is venal.3.7 rating. Lowest rating of any Victoria law firm. All because of Kirby the crook:

I contacted this firm to help with a civil case that I had already done most of the Supreme Court steps work prior to contacting them. I was clear that the defendant was awaiting my response and though it wasn't time sensitive yet, I wasn't sure timelines with courts. I was asked to send all my documents over which I did same day I spoke with Susan. 6 weeks later I'm told the lawyer finally had a chance to look at my claim and cannot commit to taking on my file. Thanks for wasting 6 weeks of my time leaving my claim now in crisis time crunch. I would not waste your time when they don't take yours into consideration!

The lawyer we worked with was impossible to reach and does not communicate unless you hunt her down for weeks. Starts doing billable work without telling you, and can't explain how much time was spent on doing what.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Kirby Hays at Cook Roberts recently for a divorce. Kirby and her team took care of everything for me from dealing with my Ex husband to making sure all paper work was filed correctly and in a timely manner. Divorce is not an easy process to deal with and I greatly appreciate her professionalism and knowledge to get this done.

This firm is venal. Full stop. They defrauded me by billing me for services which were never rendered. Kirby Hayes is the worst lawyer in Canada. She makes decisions and gives advice based on facts and documents that she has not even reviewed.I guess she has one of those $50 online law degrees from a fake university.

Great experience working with Laylee on real estate transactions. During the covid-19 lockdown she was able to get the transaction done without any stress.

I called this company back in May with a time sensitive issue and was told they would call me back right away. I was very pleased, as the person on the phone was very thorough and helpful. I was then discouraged when no one got back to me. Upon follow up, I was told someone would get back to me. Again, no one did. One star for poor communication and unreliability.

I have had bad experiences in the past with lawyers not returning calls, responding to emails, overbilling, crappy advocacy etc. Come to think of it, I am not sure I have ever had a lawyer that was 'worth it'.Mr. Hamilton has renewed my faith in lawyers, and greatly exceeded my expectations. He responds promptly to what are likely annoying requests, even in the evenings, weekends and when on holiday with his family. His rate is more than reasonable, and I would dare say he is not charging enough for the level of service he provides.We had the unfortunate problem with someone that didn't pay their bill, and initiated proceedings as self-represented litigants. Mr. Hamilton was more than willing to provide unbundled legal services, and guide us through the complexity of the Supreme Court of BC. When we retained him directly to perform our Examinations, he grasped the essence of our messy file in no time flat, and knocked those examinations out of the park.
