I hope this review helps shoppers who want to give sunrise records their business . I have been a loyal customer at this store in the quinte mall for years however will NEVER step into this store again or so much spend a dime . The staff is rude and lack customer service and people skills. Masks are mandatory hand sanitizer is not . I went into the store and was abruptly yelled at by the employee yelling “ use the hand sanitizer to come in my store “ their is no law or mandatory rule to use hand sanitizer plus I have my own as some are toxic , or some customers can be allergic to hand sanitizer and to be very honest I think everyone touching the same handle on the pump to get the sanitizer is disgusting and can be a source of transmitting Covid or variants among customers perhaps a touch less one is more wise. I understand it’s a record store and your excuse to enforce the sanitizing is due to pandemic and people routing through records and cds etc however common sense with a pandemic and what health authorities have suggested don’t touch merchandise unless your buying it !! I have had bad encounters these last few times in this particular store and keep telling myself maybe their having a bad day give benefit of doubt only to go back and receive the same poor treatment . Their is another record store in the mall that treats customers with respect and don’t enforce hand sanitizer on their customers or abruptly yell at them upon entrance into the store not a warm welcoming or treatment. Stop discriminating and treating all your customers poorly like we all have Covid and more importantly don’t yell at them walking in store . Please provide coaching or training to staff on customer service

Prices are great. Variety is great. Why am I leaving only ONE star? It simply comes down to NEVER BEING ACKNOWLEDGED. I cannot tell you the number of times I have entered this store at the Quinte Mall location in Belleville, and every time, the outcome is always the same. I have never ONCE been greeted. Now, when HMV used to be there, I was always greeted, given time to browse, then an employee would always follow up with me not long after to see if I need help. When this was HMV, you would never see every employee that was working just standing up around the cash chit-chatting." I bet inventory times are HELL for these guys as they don't even seem to pay attention to who enters and exits their store. The last time I purchased something

After shopping with my son tonight at this location, it is safe to say I will never step foot into this store again. The woman behind the cash was incredibly impolite and beyond disrespectful. My son (who is 10) came in wearing a mask, along with myself ...however, the woman decided amongst herself that his mask wasn't tightly secured" enough around his nose for her liking. I used to be a regular shopper here but since they started forcing hand sanitizer on everyone, that has come to an end. I’ll never shop there as long as this is their policy.They offer to pick items up for you. That’s discrimination. Stop treating people like they are diseased.

The woman at the counter ignored me for a lengthy period of time as I stood at the chain in front of an empty store. Apparently it was my fault according to her for not standing close enough to the chain. But yet I could see her fine. Once in I couldn't find what I was looking for and didn't want to ask her because she was rude and seemed annoyed at having to do anything. I left. If she's there again I won't be.

Spent 10 minutes waiting in line today while the assistant was on the phone. No acknowledgement, no apology, so I gave up and left. The same store asked me to leave a few weeks back as the assistant wanted to close the store for lunch! Honestly, what other mall store closes for lunch? And throws out their customers.Customer service here is really non-existent. Sam's record store in the same mall is chaotic and poorly laid out but at least they want your business, unlike Sunrise.

Decent selection when you go in but many items are available cheaper elsewhere majority of the time. Also I have ordered items from them to come into the store. They never called at all to inform me the item I had ordered had arrived. Instead I walked in and asked if it would take any longer to arrive. They said I never came to claim it and they had put it out for sale and sold it. I also saw a tshirt on their website that I was interested in back in December and inquired if they could order it in. The employee there told me they could and I watched as she put my order into the computer. I went back in late February and asked about it where a different employee notified me that they're unable to order tshirts. Very terrible service.

A very very very unpleasant experience to say the LEAST. I'll be detailed with my review. First off, doesn't matter what time of year you go here. The person who owns this place will not even fake a smile (something that's number one in customer service even if you don't feel like faking a smile you....kinda got to). Her horrible and unpleasant very unwelcoming response to anything you ask (the owner) makes the visit so unbearable to the point I can't believe I even went back after a couple trys.The level of disrespect from the owner who lacks majorly in many work field areas such as customer service, mainting the property to attract new customers, being helpful when people ask about products. With that being said no matter what you do or say or even be the nicest back even when she's being already super rude I still be nice. Doesnt matter what you do. She is always mean. And her tone in her voice just makes me want to instantly leave nor ask her about products lot alone support and make a person more rich who really doesn't deserve our hard working money.You figure in an industry where it's a select group for DVDs, vinyls and CDs and collectables in a market that is at times can very slow with the world of technology you figure you would fake being nice to push sales. It's literally her own fault if this (amazing business franchise) sinks and fails.Countless times throughout the years I go there and it's always been the same. Horrible. She is definitely a Karen type and is very rude to deal with. Considering there's only two stores at the mall that sell similar stuff you FIGURE she would....you know again fake being nice since there's another compition literally a mintue with the same building. Knowing this, she still carrys this attitude. If this place closes / or is owned by someone else she only has herself to blame (the main person running it) to blame. What do you expect? Customers feel very uncomfortable EACH TIME AT EACH VISIT. Why....? Would I want to come back. Sure some other places might charge a bit more (not by much) but way worth it then the LEGIT unbearable experiences I've had here. Everytime. The younger crowd that sometimes works there is sometimss better to deal with. Sometimes if they aren't being drained by thier boss who doesn't even mind making a PAYING CUSTOMER miserable. Plus, if it's lunch forget it. At times they will close and have no one running the shop.Note: bought an item near holidays was priced lowered but got to cash register was $3.99 more exactly. So watch that. Karen needs a new job. Because clearly she doesn't rock this...... probably never will. Just AVOID AT ANY SINGLE COSTS!!!! there is....other alternatives in Quinte shopping mall centre.Again if you don't believe me. Go find out for yourself. Maybe maybe....near the holidays when they want your money they can kinda be nice....? Altogether 1/5 for me
