York Car Rental Toronto Airport

If you don't enjoy being robbed, don't go to York car rental at Toronto airport. First they are not at the airport so that's misleading the customer to believe they can pick up a car at the airport. Only the legit car rentals are at the airport. Second they will lend you a car knowing it has issues then when you return with the problem, they will change another car with issues then tell you the first car had issues in your possession so you have to pay $500 for minor issues such as low tire pressure. Every car they give you has issues so that's how they make their money. Calling them thieves is an understatement. Please save your hard earned money, they will manipulate you every step of the way. Really bad business practice.

Scam, be aware!We started well with this company.After I returned the car, the representative took a very long time on his phone, talking and not even looking at the car, knowing we had to catch a flight. I was at the checking out counter as he inspected the car. Upon his return, he marked a very small, insignificant chip on the windshield that was almost impossible to see, and perhaps it was there before we rented the car. They asked to fill out an ACCIDENT report!!! I advised against that, and they wanted $2000 for repair.Their behavior was rude and unprofessional. This company seems like a scam, and I strongly advise against renting a car from them.I wished I had read several bad reviews about them before renting a car.Expedia should not list this company since they have so many bad reviews!!!

Me and my brother rented two minivans from York, through Priceline, the process of getting the car was very smooth and quick, both cars were in great condition, one of them was brand new, returning cars was also quick with no long wait time.The staff was very polite, respectful, accommodating and kind.Adding a second driver was a bit pricy compared to other car rental companies but they let us do it over the phone which was a plus.Otherwise everything was greatI highly recommend York and will definitely be renting cars through this company in the future.

Try renting a car from this place if you like to ruin your day. Very unprofessional and least bothered staff, we booked an SUV and showed up on time to pick it up. We provided all the documents required but I didn't have my credit card.1. I asked him to change the name of the booking to my friends name as I didn't have my credit car. He did not do that.2. I asked him to change the time from 8 am to 9 am so that I could go and grab my credit card. He didn't do that3. After I came back with my credit card he told us that we didn't show up and the booking has been cancelled. We told him that we are going to get the card and he was ok with it. After coming back the fat brown guy acted like he didn't recognize us.We had plans and pre paid most of the bookings which we don't think we will be able to make it on time. Please book vehicles from this place if you want to ruin your day and plans. I would have given -5 stars for the service but unfortunately, there is no option to do that.Thanks for ruining our plan, time and money. I hope all your cars get impounded.

I just want to add to numerous of bad reviews. First their internet was down. I waited 25 minutes to get a car (after 7 hour flight) then they charged me 10.00 per litre for fuel which is 3-4 time higher that any big company and lastly they took me to collection agent for 76 dollars, without calling or emailing me. Awful, very disappointed that company even exists.

A most horrendous, unprofessional scam artist operation.Had a reservation for vehicle pick up for 1PM.Was at their shuttle pick up spot at 1:50pm. called to inquire at 2:21 and was advised we had somehow missed the 2:15 shuttle, only upon asking when would the next one arrive i was advised at 2:45 Got the 2:45 shuttle and was dropped off at the Holiday Inn at 2:56. Inquired at the Holiday Inn and was advised the Rent a car office was adjacent to the building. Walked into the Advantage office at 3:02. An east Indian clerk at the counter looked at me , non cholent without a word of courtesy. I asked to be helped and was advised someone would be coming to assist me. Waited until 3:14 and reached to the counter once again advising with some urgency that I'd hate to be caught in rush hour and request service. once again the same response, someone would be coming to assist. Interestingly the same clerk called me to the counter after another 6 minutes at 3:21.I gave my name and the clerk looked up the reservation to advise me that I was late and they had no vehicle for me. he requoted me a price of $2000, my reservation was for $400.00.I advised I had called at 2:21 initially to which the response was the call was answered by order desk. Interestingly I was held hostage with out service for a good 20 minutes or so to adequately be out of their 2 hour reservation hold window. No doubt the intent was to either get more money off me or rent at at a higher price to someone else.I would not recommend this place even as a last resort. the operation is run by shady people with not a customer service or courtesy bone. the most frustrating experience I have encountered ever. save yourself the frustration and rent from a reputable firm, this one grossly misses the mark.I ended up renting a vehicle from Enterprise at the airport, it was a difference of another world entirely with much better service and fair rental rates. Of course I had not reserved earlier and had to pay a higher rate but the service and vehicles were much worth the cost. Would not recommend this outfit at all. Do not rent from them.

Worst car rental, I have ever seen in my life. I rented a car through Discover Canada App. When i went there to pick up car, they said you have to get insurance for $52/day. I already hold my own car insuarance with The Personal. The guy over there told me that they do not deal with The Person. As a result, i need to cancel car rental. They said you will get refund for it. But i have not got any refund so far. Worst car rental....

The worst rental company I ever used.They charge for impossible things and never return your security deposit.Just alert to new customers. Don't contract them.I made that mistake last January.Response to your answerNow they respond saying that the amount charged was the one regarding to the car damage. Lie!!! The amount charged for the damage was 1792.00 CAD (previously a workshop had given us the amount of 500 CAD), then they charged us Diminished Value 20% 358.40 CAD, 8 days of loss of use at 250 CAD per day (imagine 2000 CAD) and administrative fees from 250 CAD. That is, a damage of 500 CAD turned into a value of 4400.40 CAD. This is called theft!!!!BEWARE OF THEM. NEVER NEVER USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!
