Bluebird Hotel

This hotel is old and dated. There's a smell when you walk into the lobby. The carpets have stains and a little sticky. The rooms are stained but relatively clean. Staff is pleasant and polite when they're around. Usually there's no one at the front desk.

The hotel is outdated and dingy and although it is priced lower than new hotels, it is still over priced in my opinion.Carpets are worn and stained and the bedding looks like granny's spare basement blankets from the 70s (in a dissapointing way not a nostalgic way). Bathroom was as outdated as the rest of it but the shower head was very good - I will say that but my compliments end there. We didnt use the pool but it looked alright; not enough of a reason to visit this hotel however.

First of all the owner at the desk could not find our booking and we stood there for 15 mins while he tried to figure it out, swearing in frustration, us retelling and spelling our names over and over. The pool area was closed due to a water main break, which I think might be a blessing in disguise after reading the reviews on here. However, the other hotel in the area (just down the street), the pool was open and had clean drinking water. The room itself is dated, which doesn’t bother me but there were multiple visible large stains on the floors. There cigarette burns on the bedding. The wall in the corner backing the pool area had very clear water damage. The toilet seat fell off the hinges. The shower drain didn’t drain fast enough, so you were ankle deep in water. But the shower head itself was really good. There was a microwave and fridge which was very handy. The internet access is very poor. There were many drunks coming in and out of the hotel yelling and being very loud at all hours of the night. The hotel owner being one of them. In fact the hotel owner was out front, very intoxicated, swinging a golf club at rocks aiming at the vehicles in front. He was so loaded he swung and hit the window on the front door, smashing it. People coming out were in danger of being hit with the club.

Location was okay for were we were visiting. Melfort, Saskatchewan. Our problem was we couldn't find the place!! This reason being, it had changed it's name & we couldn't find it!! Well we did only after asking a few locals where. Pool was being taken care of . So when we decided to use it, no go. Every request we asked was answered as quickly as possible. Coffee provided in rooms & in lobby. Tim Hortons just 2 doors over. Liked that!! Restaurant in motel was closed for some time now. But not informed about this whhen booked the room!! VLT's if you like that.right off lobby. Small refrigerator in room if needed for medication, baby formula, ect. ect. Cable t.v. also available in rooms. Bar next door. Melfort is a small town so we wnere close to everything.

The owner/manager claims that he's only the janitor". He's the rudest

Keys in doors did not work, had to repeatedly retry. Room was relatively clean. Doors on side of building left open to the public, so anyone could walk in. Very run down. Pool license was expired. Hot tub was disgusting. Felt unsafe, lots of drugs, drunks coming through. Owner didn't care as long as he could have a drink. Staff was friendly but sadly drunk. Ended up leaving early to feel safer somewhere else.

The hotel room was very unclean. There was an egg salad sandwich in the fridge that was left there by a previous guest. There was dried ketchup spots on the table and the chairs are banquet chairs covered in dried food and stains. The bathroom had dried concrete in the sink and silicon circles dried on the counter.The mattress was super uncomfortable and I was unable to sleep. One of the headboards had fallen off the wall and was on the floor between the bed and wall.I didn’t even try the pool as I was warned against it by a waitress at a local restaurant.I will not stay here again when we come for a visit.

Only stayed 1 shirt night. It was clean and comfortable. Not fancy but a solid room for the price. I book 2 nights and had to leave early and they were nice enough to refund me for the second night. Staff was great

The worst hotel I have stayed in. Don’t go here. Run down (needs renovations), dirty (major spots out in the open were visibly soiled), bedding had stains, and bad service from male clerk.

Less than 1 star. The good:1. Bed was clean, sheets were clean and mattress did not have bed bugs.2. Bathroom was clean. No visible pubes in bathtub, toilet and sink were clean.3. Shower had good water pressure and hot water.The bad:1. Floors were disgusting, random garbage, dirt, dust, old tooth flosser on floor. Felt like the floors were mopped but not swept before they were mopped.2. 1 garbage can in the room that was already overflowing with other people's garbage.3. Smoke detector was hanging off the wall with wires exposed.4. Shelves and desk had a layer of dust on them.5. Fridge and microwave were both dirty.6. Owner had loud elevator music blaring throughout the hotel all night long.7. Coffee maker full of stale water, covered in dust, and had no basket to brew coffee.8. Room was way overpriced at $110 for a complete dump.
