Justin has been teaching both my 10 year old son and I how to play the guitar. Neither of us have every played before, and Justin has been a great teacher for both of us. He's well organized for our lessons, quick to provide encouragement and coaching when we get stuck or frustrated, and always willing to take the time to explain anything that we are curious about. We are both making great progress in our playing, and I show up to lessons every week excited to see what Justin is going to teach us next.

Justin is an amazing guitar teacher. I got along with him very well and loved his way of teaching music. I had difficulty with music theory when I first came to Justin and not only did he help me understand it but he also related things to music theory which made them so much easier to do such as techniques and practicing. I have been seeing Justin for a couple years now for guitar lessons. He has really taught me a lot about guitar that I would never have been able to learn without him. He clearly has a love for music and it is very evident. He also doesn't just teach one style, he is very well versed in many different styles and so I have been exposed to a variety of musical styles through my learning.He is very flexible with lesson times as well. I have changed times and days for my lessons as my schedule changes to continue my lessons with Justin so I am sure that anyone who wants to pursue lessons can work out a time to do so. Overall a great teacher and I am glad that I found him. Highly recommended for anyone who wishes to improve on guitar and further their skills and knowledge.

Justin is a wonderful teacher! I began guitar lessons several months ago as a complete beginner and Justin was very encouraging and patient. I have been getting guitar lessons from Justin for a few months.He is a great teacher who has guided me through what I want to learn. He is also very good at identifying techniques and styles which would suit my playing and introducing these to the lessons. My interest and enjoyment for the guitar have also grown due to Justin's general attitude and enthusiasm for the guitar and knowing his guitar inside out.My skill level as a guitarist has visibly improved along with my love of playing, thanks to Justin. I am a busy professional with no prior music experience and Justin got me off the ground and playing interesting music quickly. Over the last three years, he has been great at keeping me motivated with a variety of exercises at my level and suited to my interests, and does a great job of connecting music theory to practise with lots of fun historic anecdotes. I always look forward to lessons and would highly recommend him as a teacher.

I’ve been taking music lessons with Justin for over a month and plan to continue for many more as I work towards increasing my guitar skills. Before my first lesson, Justin had created a lesson plan, as well as documents to record notes on my progress and have everything really accessible for me to use at home. Justin is easy to communicate with and clearly has passion for his field in music. He works with me on songs I’m interested in learning and continues to encourage me to find time to practice each week. It’s been very rewarding for me to find a teacher that can make class fun and also focus on technical learning. My lessons with Justin have greatly improved my quality of life as a separate joy outside of my professional work life. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in Centretown wanting a local, independent music teacher.
