TLC Landscaping Design + Pools

We hired TLC to do a complete renovation of our backyard: pool, patio, fencing, pergola, landscaping, lighting. Undertaking a commitment like this (and the expense) was nerve-racking, so we were really careful about choosing the right contractor for our job.Our experience and what they delivered was exceptional. It started with Troy and the design process, which couldn't have gone more smoothly. After meeting with us several times - at our home and in their professional office - Troy came up with a beautiful plan that met all of our needs and took everything into consideration (even how the sun hits our yard at any given time of day). He made recommendations on what we should add, but also what we didn’t really need (not being upsold was refreshing). Since the weather dictates when jobs can be started, we didn't have a definitive start date, but eventually received an email that the job could start the next day, about a week earlier than what we expected (and on a Friday even). And did they hit the ground running! Our main crew was led by Stefan, and they all showed up at 8:00am the next day and immediately (can't stress that enough) started working. They showed up on time every day and worked HARD until 5:00pm (they didn't knock off even a minute sooner). Their work ethic was phenomenal, and their attention to detail was equally impressive. If something wasn't up-to-par, they reworked it. In less time than we could have imagined, they completely transformed our yard - and it's gorgeous. Admittedly, I had dreaded the process, but I actually ended up enjoying it, waiting to see what they would accomplish each day. And what a nice personable group of people. Even our neighbours commented on how friendly they were and how impressed they were with their work ethic; so much so that one of our neighbours contacted TLC for an estimate on their own yard. We were so happy that we had them re-sod and add plantings to our front yard too.I could include a big list of all the ways that TLC went above and beyond" for us

We are very pleased with our new backyard! TLC did a fabulous job from initial visit, to design phase, and project completion. They were professional, used high end products and the quality of their work is amazing!

TLC has been told more than 3 times not to block (park directly behind) owners vehicles while onsite, and they are still doing it. This causes an inability for owners to safely maneuver their vehicle out of a parking spot while ensuring thru-traffic has enough space to pass and reaction time to avoid collisions. Sometimes an owner has the complete inability to even leave their parking space (dependent on how many cars are parked in a row) unless you chase down an employee and tell them to move the truck. Why a customer needs to address this even once baffles me, let alone telling them multiple times without seeing corrective action by TLC employees. Disrespectful, uncooperative, rude.

The owner of this company drives a black pick up truck with the TLC Landscaping sign on it. He almost runs over me today, Dec 12th, 2022. I was crossing the street on the designated pedestrian line, while he was waiting on his truck.. However, He saw me and decided to almost run me over maybe thinking I would speed up. I was paralyze in fear when I saw his car approaching fast and screamed. He stopped the car when he was 2 cm away from me. Not one appology came out of his mouth. He simply ignored me and kept driving.. WOW

TLC completed our landscaping in the fall of 2016. We had an amazing experience working with Troy and the entire TLC team. They exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t be happier with their work.

Update- June 10TLC didn't bother showing up all week. This is in addition to what happened last week. Disappointing.Update- June 1Intentionally skipped the backyard. Employee walked into my yard, stood there for a few then left without doing anything. I suspect that because they are tracked, this is their loop hole. This was all caught on camera. The employee had no reason to not mow the lawn as directed and outlined in the condo agreement.Update- May 27Looks like TLC is possibly up to their old tricks, as I had to personally check with an employee if they were going to mow the backyard, as they intentionally skipped it (caught on camera). Regardless of it being a Friday, they are still required to do a job (which is generally not complete as they leave clippings everywhere).Original ReviewThey have been hired to take care of the snow plowing for my complex. They do not take pride in their work, as they feel it is acceptable to leave a snowbank at the edge of my driveway, making it difficult to reverse as there is a wall of snow. This also partially blocks a designated fire lane as well. During the summer, it it is a hit and miss whether they do a decent job (or show up for that matter). Corey drives around like he is king of the world but yet cannot steer the lawnmower in a straight line. When he is provided feedback, he is combative and tries to find fault with the homeowner. They are not consistent when showing up, as they would go weeks without showing up last summer. It is not uncommon to see the workers smoking while on the job either. Here's hoping that the condo corps follows suit with other businesses and terminates this contract.

I live in a townhouse condo and this has been my experience with TLC…They do not show up in a timely matter to shovel snow. Parking spots are halfway plowed and piles of snow from the driveway often gets dumped on parking spots.It is difficult to get in and out of our cars, my neighbour has fallen once and I have fallen twice because of their neglect.When they put salt on the walkway it is dumped in large piles here a there, not sprinkled out evenly creating unsafe conditions and a toxic environment.When they use leaf blowers the dust and grass is often blown directly towards the house and cars. When they cut the lawn they adjust the mower low and it burns the grass in high spots. The lawn has been damaged repeatedly and they have come too close to gardens and damaged plants with edgers.They send inexperienced workers to do some jobs that require a certain level of skill. Which leads to work having to be repeated. Good for them bad for us.TLC should change their name to We Don’t Really Care because there is absolutely no Tender Loving Care as I see it!

Was working on a deck next door to these guys in a new subdivision went to use the Johnny on a spot and got yelled at to get out that we didn’t pay for it didn’t realize it wasn’t the builders. We work for the builders and I have personally seen these guys using our builders Johnny on a spot. After that the next couple days they would block the road with there machines and pylons making me get out of my truck in the middle of the road to move them to get through also flipping us the finger as we left. Is this what this company is about?

We initially worked with John for a backyard design, which he nailed. The timeline worked out great for us. Stephan and his crew were excellent. They started everyday in a timely manner and cleaned up everything after they were done for the day. Any issues I had throughout the job was discussed and rectified immediately. The crew was very friendly and did a great job with all aspects of the job. I would definitely have them in for any future landscape work. My neighbours even commented on how the crew were like little worker bees.
