Brigitta is a very experienced Iyengar teacher who is constantly upgrading her skills. Since joining her class I have learned so very much about the importance of correct body alignment and physical strength. Always mindful of your personal limitations, Brigitta will challenge you to go beyond safely. We always get clear instructions and Brigitta demonstrates the key movements of the poses. Although classes can be demanding, there is always some laughter added and I always finish my classes feeling better then when I started.

Carole posting this review. I had been practicing Hatha Yoga for almost 35 years when I was first introduced to Iyengar yoga. Brigitta has been my teacher for over 11 years. Of the three Iyengar teachers that I have taken classes with, Brigitta is by far the best. I am in my 80th year; Brigitta knows my body almost as well as I know it myself and is helpful and knowledgeable about adapting poses to fit my physical limitations and skill level. Iyengar yoga is intense, hard work, but truly satisfying.

I have been attending Brigitta's classes for 15 years or so. She is a great teacher, attending to all details of form and exertion, exacting the best from her students. Every class is different, and we work every part of the body. Though she's been teaching for decades, she continues her own professional development, and we benefit from that. I am a very physically active and mobile senior now, and there is no doubt in my mind that yoga with Brigitta has helped me avoid potential injuries and maintain my mobility. And it makes me walk more upright. No one is able to guess my age!

Brigitta has been my teacher for many years. She introduced me to Iyengar Yoga. I have tried other disciplines and teachers but always come back to Iyengar and Brigitta. Here I continue to learn and get deeper and deeper in the practise and positions. Namaste

I have studied Iyengar yoga with Brigitta since 2003. Brigitta is patient, kind, insightful, careful and accomplished. Her classes are a journey of discovery--sometimes challenging, often revealing, always worthwhile. Brigitta taught me how to use supported practice to manage my chronic fatigue. She got me to the point where I could run at the wall and kick up into a handstand [with fellow yoga students spotting me]. She knows when the pain you're complaining about needs to be relieved and when a little ache is something you just need to breathe through. She is constantly refining her teaching, always in training--I can't remember a time when she wasn't in classes to upgrade her skills. After all these years, I still love taking her beginner's classes. Take yoga with Brigitta! Your body will thank you.

Brigitta specializes in Iyengar yoga which focuses on postures and alignments. This is very different than your “usual” yoga class. Each posture will be clearly explained/demonstrated to you and not only what you need to do but what you should not be doing or our most common mistakes in these poses. I have practiced other styles of yoga for over 5 years prior to taking Brigitta’s classes and even though I have done the same postures before, I made huge progress in my practice after learning the alignments and the “correct” ways of doing them. Since then I only practice Iyengar yoga and 10 years later, Brigitta is still my favourite teacher (yeah I have been to other Iyengar yoga centres in Canada and abroad). Her classes are relatively small and therefore you get a lot of personalized instructions. Brigitta knows her students well and know what their challenges are: like a bad knee or an old shoulder injury; and she would provide instructions adapting to your needs with the help of appropriate amount of props. As such, no matter what level or how stiff your body is, you can definitely take her class and you would not feel intimidated.

The attention Brigitta gives to every individual in the class is invaluable. She teaches you how to do each pose CORRECTLY, and at the end of each class I am continually surprised how great of a workout her classes are. The set-up for online classes are easy to watch and follow along and I am looking forward to in-person classes again soon. Her hands-on approach is what drew me to her lessons and keeps me coming back.

I have been studying with Brigitta for about 20 years. She is a very accomplished teacher, adjusting her instructions to each person's limitations. Over the years I have found her classes crucial for keeping me more flexible and in better shape as I have gotten older. Brigitta can be demanding, providing the necessary push we all need. But at the same time, she is warm and considerate, making sure you feel better about yourself. But don't just tr one class. Her methodology requires a series of sessions to understand the benefit,
