I visited their shelter at 25 Hart Drive a little over a week ago to drop off kitten food after seeing their post online that they were desperately in need of donations - So many adorable kitties!! The place was very well kept and the volunteers were thrilled with the donations, very happy to be supporting such compassionate folk. Would adopt more if I had the space.

Furry friends is a fully volunteer and donation run no kill cat shelter. All cats get fixed, vaccinated, microchips, and a full clean bill of health before being adopted out. I highly recommend if you are considering adopting a family pet or are looking to help out the community.

As a no-kill shelter Furry Friends offers a place for unwanted and down on their luck kitties to go with no fear of being euthanized no matter what their past was like or what challenges they face in the future. It's so great to walk in and see the resident cats and know that they are safe, loved and well cared for until they find a forever home... And even if they end up being tough nuts to crack and need some time to unwind, there's no hurry to get them out the door! Each kitty is respected and cherished.A really great rescue that I feel 100% positive and amazing about supporting.

It is so sad when nasty people represent animals... furry friends" isnt a good name as apparently they utilize their "friends" when they are healthy. It's a shame that poor attitudes of people will essentially affect the lives of these poor animals. Having someone interested in kittens after fostering them and wanting to adopt only to be told they were put down... makes my stomach turn. They should be shut down instead..."

Wonderful shelter supported by wonderful volunteers. The facility is meticulously cleaned and the cats are happy, healthy and loved. Every volunteer I’ve met has been really friendly and helpful, despite having to deal with the miserable people leaving childish, negative reviews here because they didn’t get their unreasonable needs met. For those people: check yourself. You’re complaining about a place that is saving the lives of our feline friends for FREE, friends who’d otherwise live horrible lives on the street or be dead. You’re complaining that people who volunteer their time out of their love for cats didn’t answer your email fast enough or “tricked” you into adopting a cat with issues. Instead, try putting yourself in the shoes of the people in these shelters like this who show up, unpaid, to give their love and support where no one else has stepped up (including you). If you think you see a problem, don’t hide behind your computer and complain. Sign up to be a volunteer and be the change you want to see! And finally, do remember: your negativity costs you nothing, but it costs these cats everything. Your moment of negativity, which you’ll forget after a few seconds of posting, might just be the reason that someone chooses not to visit the shelter and meet their next best furry friend, sentencing a cat to an eternity in a shelter instead of a warm, loving home.

I personally found Susan and Nicole to be extremely rude when I encountered them at the Mapleview Drive PetSmart. It's disgusting that an organization which is crucial to rescue cats allows such people to represent them. And then there is Janet Kemp a woman who ignores messages and promises updates that never come. My sister fostered 2 bonded sisters and the lack of communication during the foster time was ridiculous!! She inquired about adopting one but there were varying opinions as to whether they were truly bonded. Someone said she could adopt one and someone said she couldn't. Long story short she couldn't follow through with the adoption of both and reluctantly gave them back which completely broke her heart. She was promised updates which never came. She messaged Janet Kemp who told her the girls were doing wonderful and she would absolutely keep her posted. No further update and last message ignored. We assumed the kittens were adopted and doing well. Last communication was again when she reached out to Sherry (excellent volunteer) and was told one kitten had been sick but had fully recovered but now the sister was sick and receiving care. That was January 20th. I recently learned those two beautiful, sweet kittens were put down at the end of January and my sister was never told. What the heck happened in 10 days when one was fully recovered? I think it's time for sponsors to request the dismissal of some of the volunteers giving Furry Friends a bad name. The lack of support for first time fosters, the lack of communication and the rudeness from some that you do connect with is deplorable!!

Wonderful volunteer charity with happy helpful people working there. We were cat sitting for 2 months" for a friend who had to go to England to attend to family matters...Covid happened... yada yada 2 years later

Fantastic rescue. Clean facility, loved my time volunteering and you can really tell that the team cares for all of the cats under their roof. Cute cats are a plus!

I have nothing but negative things to say about this organization. We adopted a cat from Furry Friends after losing two out of three of our beloved senior cats. We wanted a companion for our remaining senior cat as she had been with her sisters for her whole life and we did not want her to be lonely. The cat we adopted from Furry Friends was advertised as 2 years old, however after getting x-rays done at the vet for health issues we were not told he had, we were told he is middle aged and they don’t know his exact age. This came as a complete betrayal to us as we were looking for a young cat so as to avoid the inevitable for many years. The cat we adopted has a history of constipation and is suffering from stomatitis, we were not told about either of these things. 5000 dollars and counting later, he is in unimaginable pain, agony and suffering because of the negligence of this organization. We adore this cat and will never let him down like Furry Friends did. They should be ashamed of themselves for how they treat their cats and I will never forgive them for what they’ve done to our cat and our family.

This shelter seems to take very good care of their cats however I would never reccomend adopting here. They offer you cats that are not what you're looking for at all even though you tell them what you're looking for. The process also takes extremely long. I understand that it is volunteer run and things are slow due to covid, however, I adopted from Streetcats which is the same and within two days I took home the exact cat I wanted and was very happy with their adoption process. Furry Friends also does not ever get back to you, I emailed them about a specific cat after being approved for adoption and they emailed back 4 days later saying she had been adopted already and then again offered me another cat I was not interested in.
