When looking for companies to waterproof my mothers estate’s basement, home spec was a perfect choice. Working with Zach, they met me at the house and did a thorough estimate. Once they went over the plans with me, they talked me through the process and everything sounded great. Zach was a great salesman who walked me through the financing process, how to pay, and how the job would be done. Once we locked in a date for construction, their crew was timely, friendly, and got to work right away. They finished the entire job within two days. Fantastic masonry work, as well as they did a great job cleaning up the property after the job was done. I would completely recommend home spec to anybody looking to do quality waterproofing in their basement.

Home ownership is a lot harder than i was ever lead to believe.During last years storm that took power out in Ypsi for almost a week. I had water egress issues in my basement where water was seeping up through the cove joint onto my floor. Heavy Rains only made the problem worse and with the increased water came cracks in my foundation were noted at time of buying but seemingly got worse in the few years I have lived in this house.Upon deciding it was time to fix this foundation and water issue i called and had a handful of different companies come inspect and quote the job, many felt like they were running scare tactics or sign now for a deal". When Erik from HomeSpec came to my house he was very professional and simply stated the facts that I would need to have work completed

I had initially called HomeSpec due to water in my crawlspace, and was worried that there was groundwater infiltration. The representative I met with, Erik, identified that I actually had a leaky bathtub drain pipe. I'm extremely grateful that he took the time and effort to properly check where the water was coming from, rather than assuming something else.During the review of services offered, he was easily able to answer all of my questions. He didn't try to pester me into buying additional services that I wasn't interested in, and stayed focused on services that he felt I would benefit from, which was getting my crawlspace encapsulated. Once we got to the price, we went over financing options, and I was able to secure a very affordable option.I was also impressed with the installation crew that performed the job. Brandon had checked in with me before starting, answering a couple questions I had about the process. The work itself was done after a few hours, and once complete, he went over the results with me and showed me pictures from the crawlspace. He also provided a couple extra pieces of insulation that formed a snug seal at the entrance of the crawlspace, which would have otherwise leaked heat.Overall, I'm very happy with the work that was done, and I would absolutely call again for any other issues I might have with my crawlspace.

Absolutely regret using this company which really disappoints us. We were so excited for them given their good ratings and reviews. It was a problem from day 1 of their 5 day project. Employees fighting in my front yard and being sent home only to send the fighting employee back to my home a few days later. They didn't give their concrete cutting guy the blueprints therefore the egress was initially cut in the wrong spot (Jerry was phenomenal though in repairing, rectifying and recutting). Then 6 days AFTER they finished" their job our contractor (not associated with home spec) called us while trying to pull his permits to start the remodel found out that home spec NEVER PULLED THE PERMIT FOR THE EGRESS despite being paid and contracted to do so. It gets better though! Chuck from home spec deflected that to the city screwing up their papers. What that means is home spec were to lazy and/or irresponsible enough to not do their checks and balances that they had months of prep time for to even realize they didn't actually obtain the egress permit. Chuck did eventually called back after looking further into it to tell us that they did in fact screw up and nothing was ever set up for the egress permit. So now our contractor and his crew for the remodel are unable to even lay a stud until home spec fixes the permit issue with the city which means loss of time and money for our remodel contractor and pushing our project back.Our job with home spec was a big job costing 28k for a sump pump install with the piping having to be dug to the storm drain all through our front lawn to the street

I have issues with moisture and water in my basement, as per the house inspection, it affects the overall foundation and structure of the house, plus the molds and mildew, health hazard it can cause. I am well pleased with the services provided by Homespec, from the time of initial evaluation done for my basement by Erik, a very thorough plan was discussed, for the following : foundation drainage system and sump pump replacements, clean up and crawl space encapsulation, basement waterproofing and the Bright wall and flooring installation. The project was scheduled properly, Tim and Jim’s crew are very fast and reliable, there’s a constant update from the company for scheduling and any changes, they worked around my schedule very well. The pricing is worth it, Erik worked around for adjustments within the budget and gave suggestions, and all went great! I was even able to get the Sedona dehumidifier and Aspen Air Purifier, and they work perfect! My basement is dry and looks great! I am very satisfied and will highly recommend this company! We used HomeSpec BasementFix to waterproof our basement and are very pleased with the work they performed. If your looking to get your wet basement fixed I suggest you call these guys. Our basement was getting wet every time it rained and since the waterproofing its been dry and no more musty basement smell. Chris our salesman was very easy to work with and kept us well informed. Install took 2 days, installers were polite and cleaned up the job site better then it was when they arrived. 5 stars

My home is over 60 years old, and the heavy spring rain always created big puddles at various spots in my basement. Having recently purchased the home, I knew I had to address this.Sidney was the inspector, he identified and explained what was happening, and was great to work with.Marshall was in charge of the work, and the crews were great. I went with an interior-based drainage system and a sump pump connected to the city storm system. It’s been tested well with all the recent rain, and my basement is finally dry! No more puddles!I can finally move on to working on the house more; I highly recommend the company, and the people that worked with me on my house. They even took care of the lawn, where it had to be dug up for the storm drain connection.

We needed two big repairs to our house…big leak in the basement wall and our driveway slabs needed attention. We found Homespec online, read the reviews, then have them a call. Eric the sales rep was obvious knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, gave thorough explanations, and in the end gave us a fair quote for what needed to be done.Homespec put in a basement waterproofing system, the inspector said we had hired the best and it’ll last us. We are happy with the professionalism of the crew, and very happy with the work done. All wet need is some rain to test it!The driveway also is much better after Homespec leveled using what they explained was a better solution than in previous years. Water drainage is much better and all the cracks are nicely repaired.We would definitely recommend Homespec!

Really appreciated the quick response to my call. They quoted a reasonable price. Our basement crack was verticle from the floor to the top of the wall. The repair took about 1 hour. The Tech was terrific and explained everything she was doing. The emails and calls reminding us about our appointment were a little excessive, but I guess more is better than none.
