Absolutely amazing place! Exhibits all over, lots to see but that also means lots of walking. However there are free transportation options to get around the park. See the pictures for about a third of what is available to see. Food is pricey and burgers are frozen patties.

This was one of the most beautiful amazing trip we have had. We are thrilled to see lots of interesting animals for the first time. I highly recommend you to bring your whole family and enjoy the adventure together at Assiniboine Park & Zoo. There are also plenty of activities you can explore inside the park.

Nice experience... There are so many snow animals and even seven polar bears in the arctic section... That is the most precious experience i have ever had.

It was such a great time to visit. Morning animals were all up and about, having breakfast, playing. The polar bears were swimming! The seals put on a show. The gibbons were super active and interactive. The lynx was walking around (only ever saw it sleep). There are still a lot of empty spots. Would be nice if something was done about the big pond enclosure.

Easy to purchase tickets online and save a few dollars (and skip the cue on a busier day.)Friendly staff and volunteers were all around the park which was lovely. Lots of signage to reorient yourself amidst the enclosures.I went on a very hot day so some.ofnthe animals (Amur Tigers) were a bit shy (hiding to keep cool I imagine.) And I only saw one wolf and one polar bear, which was a bit disappointing, I was hoping to see several knowing how many live at the zoo. That being said, it was a lovely walkabout, with plenty of educational displays surrounding the enclosures. In terms of amenities, it's fairly no-frills. No lockers are available for guests BUT you're welcome to pack your own food and water. There were lots of families with wagons who clearly had the right idea.It could definitely be a lot of walking for young ones or those with mobility challenges, and can certainly be a very hot and sunny day if the weather calls for it. Dress accordingly! Picnic areas were mostly shaded but the rest of the route was full sun so be prepared.

Went with my cousins to the park on a Friday. It has been awhile since we went here. Lots of kids due to a field trip so it was pretty busy. It was a really hot day and almost all of the animals in the zoo are hiding so we didn’t see much of them. Although, we got lucky enough to see the polar bears outside playing and wrestling around. It was still a good visit over all. We enjoyed the day there!!

We have been to this zoo couple of times they do events at different times like dinosaur, halloween christmas etc and its great. Kids have lots of fun especially with polar bears. There are playgrounds through out the park, butterfly conservatory and bugs zoo is great. Over all in Winnipeg if you were to visit this will be one of the top recomendations for family with kids. Ample parking and washroom. There is a bit of walk so take the strollers they do provide carts, wheelchairs and golf cart rides for seniors. Check out the images and follow for more.

People think the zoo is a summer destination. Couldn't be so wrong! The fall, winter, and spring at the zoo are amazing. Seeing the animals out and about in the cooler weather is better for us & them! I've never seen them as active as on a cool winter day. Great family outing, and you can easily make a day out of it or run through it in a couple hours.

One of the most amazing zoo experiences i had in Canada where you can see the fluffy Polar bears and several animals that are found in the Arctic region. The Arctic Fox, Wolves, seals are some notable animals. You will also see the Australian Kangaroo in the zoo. The zoo is divided into various regions of the planet with all living beings across. It has a free Zoo Team ride inside the zoo that takes you to all stops. Several spots for the washroom and drinking water and food as well. I would highly recommend visiting with family friends and kids. You have ample parking space in front of the zoo and it's well connected with the public transport of the city of Winnipeg.
