Beach Grove Motel

I hate to do this because the front desk people were so lovely, however I wouldn’t choose this motel again. I booked a pet friendly suite for two nights while on a business trip, and I’m glad I didn’t end up booking for the three nights I had originally planned. When I arrived it smelled strongly of pinesol, but after looking around the room I’m not sure what they had cleaned. After the pinesol scent dissipated, the smell was replaced by the strong stench of cigarettes. My kitchen was filthy, with dust caked all over the top of the oven fan and food splatters all over the walls. My single dinner plate was placed upside down in a dirty drawer, and I ordered take out for every meal since I couldn’t even clean the mediocre selection of dirty dishes the previous occupant had left behind in the cupboard, as there was no dish soap. A previously used sponge was left beside the sink. There is no hairdryer (not even a foldable travel version), and they only provide bar soap and shampoo in the bathroom (no conditioner). There’s a sign on the wall asking you to remove makeup with a coloured towel, yet they don’t provide it for you. There’s actually signs all over the place stating different things like “we’re not responsible if anything gets stolen from your room” and “if the police come for any reason then you’ll be asked to leave with no refund”. The shower still had soap scum on the glass doors, and the bathtub tap handle came off completely when trying to turn on the water. There were splatters of who knows what all over the walls and ceiling in literally every room in my suite. The baseboards looked like they had never been cleaned before, and the one chain lock for the door (no deadbolt or inner knob lock) was held on by a single screw. I had to barricade the door in order to feel safe enough to try and sleep on the rock hard mattress. The more I looked, the more it was apparent that cleanliness is not important here. I understand that this a motel and it doesn’t have to be fancy, but it should at least be clean.

The room was good enough and the staff were really nice. The hotel itself looked nice, although we didn't get much of the experience in sure since we arrived quite late and went right to bed. It would have been nice if the AC was turned on before we arrived, the room was probably 30 degrees and it took a while to cool off before we could sleep. There is a full fridge and kitchen which was nice (although we didn't use it we had intended to had we arrived earlier). There weren't many glasses for drinking, and there was no dish soap to clean them. They didn't have a play pen for the baby to sleep in, so if you need one just make sure to bring your own. Overall we'd probably stay again but would bring our own play pen and call ahead to ask them to turn in the AC if we're going to be that late.

Hotel was filthy. The toilet hadn’t been flushed last time it was used ( making me think they probably didn’t clean upon last check out ). Our pillow had stains , there were food crumbs all over the table and counter and the shower had brown slimey substance all over the curtain/walls. Front staff was very friendly regardless of this.

The staff here were delightful. The outside, initial perception of the place was pretty dreary. But once we got a look inside, we were pleased and very comfortable. Room #3 was clean, brand new air conditioner, new flooring, and a very decent bathroom. There were a few minor items but for $99, I would stay there again. Great location since so close to the early ferry to the island.

The owners were very nice and accommodating. I accidenly booked the wrong date on my app and they still put me in a room. The do charge a 100 deposit which they added to my room fee and they said it takes 4-5 days to return, since I did it on a debit card.the office is only open from 3pm to 11pm do its not possible to physically get a deposit back...seems kind of sketchy. The room cleanliness could be improved, I did not feel comfortable showering in there and I slept with clothes on above the sheets. It's pretty grundgy place. However we were only there from 9pm-4am ,so a total of 7 hours, to catch the early morning ferry, I would not have stayed long term. The plus is its only 10 min from the ferry terminal.

I booked it for friends...and when we checked in the toilet was still dirty. Shower drain was still full with hair. The smell in the room was really bad.Front Desk was actually nice and cleaned it up right away. But i wouldn't stay there....just saying

A coworker and I rented two rooms at the Beach Groove Motel at the end of April 2022 for two nights. The woman working at the reception was lovely and very helpful. We also appreciated how well-located the motel was and how quiet it was at night.Our rooms were extremely dirty. There were food remains inside my drawer, and there were hairs/dirt on my window sill. My coworker found a hair in her bed sheets. The rooms smelled strongly of cigarettes, and at least three of our towels were stained. We had book rooms with kitchenettes. The kitchenettes consisted of a microwave on top of a mini fridge, coffee maker, and a set of dishes and cutlery which we had nowhere to wash (nor were we comfortable eating from them). My coworker's room did have a sitting area and table.

Dirty rooms, plugs didn't have wall plates, microwave handle broken and every chair is stained on every surface. The lock was a chain lock and the windows didn't have any safety catches that worked.
