Syed Kabir assisted me with a complicated and ugly estate dispute. Prior to engaging Syed's services I had been using another litigator for 2 years. There was a breach of confidence with that person and i needed to find another litigator fast. I watched a great YouTube video of Syed talking about legal self representation the benefits and caveats. I thought i am going to contact this lawyer for help. It was like night and day!! Syed really smart and strategic. He knows Ontario estate/trust laws and is up to date on all the precedent setting case law that assisted me in my dispute with difficult and greedy beneficiaries. I am recommending Syed to my friends and family. I wish i had found Syed at the beginning of my executorship. He would have saved me loads of money, through and maybe i would have less grey hair on my head :)

After my first “free” consult with Haig, I provided my deposit only to be met with extremely slow service that I had to call and follow up on far too often. By the first paid meeting I had to repeat every bit of information I had originally provided as if nobody had taken any notes or written down a single word. I was provided with a mediator in training but was paying for Haig still as well. After repeating my entire case to her, I was told my spouse was in a tough spot and was unable to pay her half of the mediation fees, only to lose contact with the office almost entirely once they received my money. After over a month, all they had done for me was make a single phone call and it costed me $1000. Since then, this office has neglected my case and the last email I received telling me they’d call me tomorrow was from Mid-December. It’s now Mid-January and I never got a call. I asked if there was any funds left from my two deposits to be refunded and was met with no response. Thankfully I did not proceed with the retainer fee as it would have broken me financially to do so and be met with this lack of care and service.UPDATE 01/30/23 - Most of my deposit was refunded. Appreciated.

My sister and I retained services from DeRusha Law firm a second time as we have so much confidence in Haig. This Firm has friendly staff, are very efficient and profesional within their team. They are very experienced the in different services that we required each time. Cost were very fair for the services provided.
