Studio 861 Hair & Spa

This was an awful experience. I had a Groupon for a cut, style, conditioning and color. I had an appointment at 2:30. I was a bit early and was told that the person who would be doing my hair would be in shortly. I waited for 15 minutes before the person finally showed up... I had said that if it was going to be much longer I was going to have to leave ... The person shows up and unapologetically grills me for making a big deal because of 15 min. I tell her I have to leave because I have a baby at home and will no longer have enough time ... She waited until I left and marked my Groupon as used... I went back and asked her to please fix this as it was inaccurate and she just told me to.deal with Groupon. Don't go there

I've been here multiple times and have had very good experience. My most recent experience was horrible. I am about to go on vacation and made an appointment a week in advance. When I arrived they flat out lied to me that I missed my appointment because it was the day before. They tried to say they didn't have my phone number but I vividly recalled giving it to them. Now I am left scrambling last minute. If you're going to go there make sure to confirm your appointment the day before and try to come on a slower day because they clearly do not appreciate their customers.

DO NOT GO TO SALON 861!!!! Worst salon experience ever!! I was trying to save some money and I bought a GroupOn deal for a color, cut, treatment and style. I asked for a dark medium brown and Ieft the salon with bright red hair and major HOT ROOTS. While the color was in my hair I asked the owner/stylist why the dye in my hair looked so red and she said that it was only the lighting. I ended up having such severe hot roots because she left the color on my hair for too long. After 3 washes and a bathtub full of dye; my hair was still so red that I had to go to my usual salon to have it fixed. I had no confidence that Studio 861 could fix the mistake and I didn't want to have my hair ruined even more. The owner/stylist was not very friendly at all and only spoke with a male colleague and made me feel very uncomfortable. In fact, they were taking about a girl who just left the salon and were making fun of her. I found this very unprofessional. When the dye was ready to be washed out, the male stylist took over and barely washed my hair for 2 minutes leaving a lot of excess dye in my hair. The cut was even worse. He grabbed all of the hair on the crown of my hair and chopped off the ends. He then did the same with the rest of my hair. I asked him when they were going to do the treatment and he said that they already did during the wash. I am pretty sure that no treatment was applied to my hair. During the blow dry session I could smell hair burning. He left my hair curled under the ends in a very old fashion style, when I explicitly told him I wanted my hair as straight as possible. At that point I just wanted to get out of that salon and never go back. The male stylist was very condescending and continued to talk about the client that had just left. The poor woman must have told him that she wanted her hair and make up to look amazing because she was going to a party that her ex would be at and wanted to impress him. Both the owner and the male stylist talked about how desperate the woman is and said that she needs to “get over it”. I don’t think that’s how you should treat your clients who might give you repeat business. I hope that woman reads this review so she knows not to go back. I wish I read the other reviews before purchasing the deal. But I guess you get what you pay for. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!! Unless you like bad service, bad hair and want to be ridiculed.

I first heard about this Salon through a voucher for Keratin treatment and decided to give it a try. During my first visit, I found their service to be excellent and the stylists were very attentive to their work and to my requests. I was advised to get a haircut after the keratin treatment because my ends were so dry (I totally agreed). I must say that the haircut was absolutely amazing!! It was done by a male stylist (Jairo) and it was exactly what I was looking for. Even my mother, who rarely gives out compliments, noticed the difference in my hair and said that it was the best style that she has seen on me...totally suited my face shape, etc. Because I was so impressed, I went back a second time this year and again, was very happy with Jairo's work - I got a cut and partial highlights. I will definitely be going back soon. Highly recommended!

I bought 3hr keratin treatment from Groupon and paid $25 more as my hair is little longer than shoulder length hair. However service was okay. My treatment was done within 1.5hrs. I was told by the salon lady to buy sulphate free shampoo and I did. I washed my hair after 2days and it's turned out exactly same hair I had. No changes at all. My hair is wavy and frezzy. It didn't help or fix anything. I don't know is it a scam or what but for me I'm not rich. It's so frustrating also disappointing because total I paid $152 and I got nothing. My whole money just got wasted. I'll recommend not to go there for this treatment.

I went for a Keratin treatment 3 weeks ago. The keratin was done by the Assistant/helping lady and she was super UNPROFESSIONAL. She was not experienced at all to do a Keratin treatment. She burnt my hair with extremely hot iron rods, burnt my scalp and even burnt my ear. She was badly managing my hair and pulling like crazy. I still have pain in my scalp after 3 weeks.Oh and the quality of the keratin treatment extremely BAD.I complained to the owner while paying off about the experience and she simply said “no my dear my girl is very experienced and your total would be xxx”.I am NEVER coming back!!!!

I just moved from New York City and so needed to get my hair done. I could finally say I found the perfect place to get my hair done. The ladies were so welcoming, explained how she did the Keratin, and how to take care of my hair after. I would definitely recommend this place to other.

I got a Groupon for this place for hair wash, cut, partial highlights, deep conditioning treatment and style. The staff were nice enough although they didn't really engage me in conversation...they were quite busy talking amongst themselves in another language! I had asked for a natural" look with the highlights but was informed that the deal only covered 7 foils and that to see anything I would have to upgrade to half-head highlights for $30. I have been getting my hair keratin treatment from Ines for over the past three years now. I posted my pic show the quality of work they do. When they changed the Salon location, I lost touch and went to some other salon to get my hair treatment done. It was then I realized the value of Ines’s work. Professional, no-nonsense chatter and good quality products.I referred many friends and family to her Salon in the past years and would continue to recommend it again. Thanks, Ines! Compared with the average price for a hair cut in Toronto they are very cheap. But so is the quality - at least in my experience. The lady gave me the worst hair cut I have ever gotten. It is so uneven, I have random strands of hair that are much longer than the rest and it simply doesn't look good. One star instead of zero because she was very friendly. That doesn't make my hair cut any better, though... Cannot recommend this salon!
